President Trump taps Jovita Carranza to head Small Business Administration
by Jerry McCormick
The resignation of Linda McMahon as head of the Small Business Administration (SBA) caught many by surprise.
But it didn’t take long for President Trump to nominate his pick for her replacement: Jovita Carranza, who currently serves as U.S. treasurer.
McMahon Moving On
While McMahon is leaving the administration, she is clearly still on the Trump Train.
She is taking over as chair of a pro-Trump super PAC called America First Action.
McMahon’s claim to fame before joining Trump was running the WWE with her husband, Vince McMahon.
Together, they turned the WWE into an earning machine like nothing we have ever seen in the wrestling entertainment industry.
Like the WWE, the SBA thrived under McMahon — Trump even said she did an “outstanding job” — so Carranza will have some big shoes to fill.
Ready for the Job
But Carranza is actually no stranger to the SBA.
During the George W. Bush administration, Carranza served as the deputy administrator of the organization.
This may be why Trump did not take very long to fill this vacancy, as he has some other positions in his administration.
He clearly has had his eye on Carranza for some time.
Of his new SBA pick, Trump tweeted earlier this week: “Jovita was a great Treasurer of the United States – and I look forward to her joining my Cabinet!”
GOP Sen. Tom Cotton To IRS: Investigate Southern Poverty Law Center
GOP Sen. Tom Cotton To IRS: Investigate Southern Poverty Law Center
By Jeff Dunetz
Senator Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) sent a letter earlier this week to Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service Charles Rettig urging an investigation into whether the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) should retain its classification as a 501(c)(3).
The letter said in part:
“Recent news reports have confirmed the long-established fact that the SPLC regularly engages in defamation of its political opponents. In fact, the SPLC’s defining characteristic is to fundraise off of defamation.
Cotton is correct, the SPLC is an over-the-line, liberal, loony-toons group dedicated to fighting anybody or anything that identifies as conservative. It’s supposedly an anti-hate group, but it has been spreading lies, misinformation, and hate for years. The SPLC targets many groups and people as “haters” who aren’t actually spreading hate but have different political or religious beliefs than the SPLC. The SPLC thinks that orthodox Christians are “hate-filled” for their belief that gay marriage is a sin.
SPLC’s lies have led directly to violent attacks on conservative organizations like the Family Research Council and the more recent shooting of Rep. Steve Scalise. And in a case that was crazy even for them, was the SPLC’s slandering of a peaceful Muslim as an Islamophobic extremist. Maajid Nawaz is a former Muslim extremist who now spends his time fighting against the spread of radical Islam in the West. For his efforts, he was threatened with death by Islamists, and been slandered as an “Islamophobe” and a hate group by the SPLC. Maajid sued in June 2017, and a year later the SPLC settled with Maajid for $3,375,000 and a public apology.
The Senator’s letter continued (full letter embedded below):
This business model has paid well. The SPLC has accrued more than $500 million in assets. According to the group’s most recent financial statement, it holds $121 million offshore in non-U.S. equity funds. The SPLC uses these assets to pay its executives lavish salaries far higher than the comparable household average.
Further, CNN reported that the organization ‘suffers from a pervasive racist culture,’ and the SPLC’s leader has ‘been disciplined after a prior investigation into inappropriate conduct.’ The New York Times has charitably described the organization as ‘in turmoil’ and cited employees’ claims that SPLC leadership is ‘complicit in decades of racial discrimination, gender discrimination, and sexual harassment and/or assault.’
Based on these reports, and in the interest of protecting taxpayer dollars from a racist and sexist slush fund devoted to defamation, I believe that the SPLC’s conduct warrants a serious and thorough investigation.”
Gee $500 million in assets? For a non-profit. it sure makes a lot of profit. And that’s what Charity Watch thinks also. They gave the group an “F” rating :

Last month, the SPLC’ lost their leadership. Its founder, Morris Dees, was fired for “workplace misconduct.” Its president, Richard Cohen, and its legal director, Rhonda Brownstein, were forced to resign, and many current and former staffers publicly accused the SPLC of institutional racism and ignoring widespread sexual harassment.
Senator Cotton concluded with:
“Perhaps the SPLC was founded for a notable purpose and decades ago, it performed some good work, but what is left of the SPLC is no longer operating in a consistent manner with the IRS guidelines and applicable law, Based on this concerning information, and the flood of recent reports, I encourage you to take immediate action,”
Hopefully, his words will be heeded. The SPLC hasn’t been well-intentioned in a long time. It started as a civil rights organization with good intentions, fighting racists such as the KKK. However, in recent years it has gone crazy. The SPLC unjustly leveled accusations of racism. They branded as “bigoted” many groups and individuals whose only crime lies in their refusal to embrace the SPLC’s left-wing agenda, including Tea Partiers, The Federation for American Immigration Reform (known as FAIR), Christian organizations that don’t believe in same-sex marriage or abortions. Heck, they even declared the term “Drain The Swamp” as racist which is ridiculous charge unless of course comic character “Swamp Thing” really exists.
My Mother, of blessed memory, taught me the only way to stop a bully from bullying is to stand up to them, look them in the eye, and push back…I hope Senator Cotton’s push back works.

Feds warn: China sending ‘thousands’ of spies to US colleges
by Joel Gehrke
Chinese intelligence services have sent “thousands” of people to U.S. colleges under the guise of college students and professors, federal officials said.
“We want to encourage people to come here and study,” Andrew Lelling, the U.S. attorney for Massachusetts, told reporters Friday. “This isn’t about targeting everyone who’s a Chinese national. But there are thousands who are directly linked to a state-sponsored effort to steal intellectual property.”
That warning underscores the scope of China’s “economic espionage,” as the Justice Department terms it, as a tool for national security and economic threat. That threat is part of a broader effort by Beijing to take advantage of American colleges and universities, which provoked a backlash among U.S. officials.
“The message to all the schools is: One, be aware that you are a target,” John Demers, the assistant attorney general at the Justice Department, said during the briefing. “Universities also have a lot of people coming in and out: students, visiting professors who are here for a year ... You may not know the folks there as well as you do maybe in a company.”
According to the most recent State Department data, more than 363,000 Chinese students studied in the U.S. in 2017-2018, nearly a third of all international students enrolled at U.S. institutions.
FBI Director Christopher Wray warned last year that China was using “nontraditional” intelligence collectors to launch a “whole-of-society” threat against the U.S. Those worries found an echo among lawmakers who worry that Chinese educational programs are platforms for propaganda and influence operations, while Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has been warning European allies that Chinese tech giants such as Huawei and ZTE are also being used as spy assets.
“MIT is not accepting new engagements or renewing existing ones with Huawei and ZTE or their respective subsidiaries due to federal investigations regarding violations of sanction restrictions,” the Massachusetts Institute of Technology announced Wednesday.
DOJ officials emphasized that “Boston is a target rich environment” for Chinese espionage, given the multitude of colleges and corporations with sensitive intellectual property, but they also sought to avoid overstating the fear.
“What we’re trying to focus on is differentiating the folks who come here to present a threat from the folks who come here just to study," Demers said.

White House Slams Vicious Viral Twitter Lie Falsely Accusing President Trump of Calling Asylum Seekers “Animals”
by Kristinn Taylor
Senior White House official Mercedes Schlapp slammed a viciously false viral tweet of a year-old video of President Trump calling MS-13 gang members animals that the poster, Mark Elliott, falsely captioned, “.@realDonaldTrumpon people asking for asylum “These aren’t people. These are animals.”
Elliott’s tweet was posted Friday evening as Trump was in California inspecting new replacement border fencing. The video was picked up from a misleadingly edited C-SPAN tweet from May 16, 2018. The view counter showed over 13 million views as of Saturday afternoon. However just under half of those views likely occurred before the re-posting by Elliott. Regardless, Elliott’s smear of Trump has gone viral enough to require a response from the White House. High ranking Democrats, including presidential candidates, as well as prominent Trump critics have promoted the viral lie.
Schlapp, an Assistant to the President serving as Director of Strategic Communications, posted Saturday afternoon, “Complete lie from @markmobility tweet. POTUS was talking about MS13 gang members as animals.”

Schiff Holds On To Russia Narrative: 'Evidence of Collusion In Plain Sight'
Chair of the House Intelligence Committee won't let go of Mueller report
By: Pippa Monroe |@NeonNettle
Schiff says he doesn't 'regret calling out this president for deeply unethical and improper conduct.'
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) seems to be one of the last Democrats desperately holding onto the 'Trump and Russia collusion' narrative despite Muller's report clearing the president almost three weeks ago.
Speaking on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Schiff claimed there was “ample evidence” of collusion between Trump’s campaign and the Russians.
According to Schiff:
“What I said on your show and others for over a year now, yes, there’s ample evidence of collusion in plain sight. That’s not proof of a conspiracy beyond a reasonable doubt," he said.
Speaking on CNN’s 'State of the Union,' Schiff claimed there was 'ample evidence' of collusion between Trump’s campaign and the Russians. "I would defer to Bob Mueller’s judgment, and I do. I think what we’re talking about here is the difference between conduct that rises to the level of criminality and conduct that is unethical, unpatriotic and corrupt but may not be criminal.
He continued, “I don’t regret calling out this president for deeply unethical and improper conduct. Not a bit. I think the moment we start to think that we should back away from exposing this kind of malfeasance and corruption is a dangerous point.”
“There is a risk when you have an immoral president, a president lacking in a basic character who violates the norms of office, an even greater risk of doing too little oversight. "I make no apologies for that. I’ll continue holding this administration accountable.
Last week, Former Rep. Trey Gowdy claimed Schiff did "everything he could" to stop Trump from being elected and get Hillary Clinton into the White House.Gowdy said during an interview on Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures," that Schiff's bias against President Trump has extended well past the 2016 election.
"Adam was a deeply partisan person. He did everything he could to make sure that Hillary Clinton became the next president. And he's done everything he could since he failed at that to keep a cloud over the Trump presidency," he said.
It seems more and more Americans believe the special counsel’s probe was “politically motivated,” according to a new poll.
The CBS News poll reveals a dramatic increase of Americans believing the probe was a Democratic partisan investigation compared to the poll conducted before the investigation ended.

Ex-Sen. Bob Kerrey: Democrats Are Delusional

By Eric Mack
Instead of continuing the collusion "delusions," Democrats should be investigating how the Justice Department got the investigation into Russia's 2016 election meddling "so wrong" with "prosecutorial abuse," according to a Democratic former Nebraska senator and governor.
"Delusions fascinate me in part because I have so many of my own," ex-Gov./Sen. Bob Kerrey wrote in an Omaha World-Herald op-ed. "Most often delusions are harmless. Sometimes they are not.
"At the moment my fellow Democrats are suffering from two that are harmful.
"The first is that Americans long for a president who will ask us to pay more for the pleasure of increasing the role of the federal government in our lives."
Americans just do not favor the Green New Deal, a tax on wealth or Medicare for all, he wrote.
"The second Democratic delusion is that Americans were robbed of the truth when special prosecutor Robert Mueller and Attorney General William Barr concluded that President Trump did not collude with Russia in 2016," Kerrey continued. "All evidence indicates that the full report will not change the conclusion that Donald J. Trump did not collude with Vladimir Putin to secure his victory in 2016.
"Rather than investigating the president further, Congress needs to investigate how the Department of Justice got this one so wrong. If the president of the United States is vulnerable to prosecutorial abuse, then God help all the rest of us."
Like legal expert Alan Dershowitz has maintained from the start, Congress needs a "nonpartisan commission" to investigate the failings of the justice system in searching for a crime that was not found in the Mueller Report.
"Find out what went wrong and to tell us what needs to be done to make certain it never happens again," Kerrey wrote, pointing to four key questions:
-
Is the FBI Director free of political pressure to investigate candidates or elected officials on a partisan basis?
-
Can we write rules to govern candidate and officeholders?
-
How does the FBI decide to open an investigation? "A single campaign official suggesting the possibility of collusion with a foreign power or a document written as opposition research or a demand from a member of Congress are very thin reeds upon which to challenge the legitimacy of an elected official," Kerrey wrote.
-
"Are federal pardons justified?"
"Our democracy will survive the hostility of Vladimir Putin," Kerrey concluded. "What it may not survive is distrust of our system of justice. At the moment that distrust is deep and wide.
"We need a nonpartisan national commission to tell us what has just happened and to advise us on what we need to do to keep it from happening again."
Virginia Governor Ralph Northam Makes Animal Cruelty a Felony, Supports Post-Birth Infantacide
Virginia Governor Ralph Northam Makes Animal Cruelty a Felony, Supports Post-Birth Infantacide
This could not be more timely.
The governor of Virginia, Ralph Northam, who is now best-known for his notorious blackface/KKK yearbook picture, shocked the pro-life community just days before that media scandal by openly advocating for post-birth infanticide.
Need a refresher?
“If a mother is in labor…the infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and mother,” Northam said on WTOP’s “Ask The Governor” segment late January 2019, just days before a law loosening restrictions on late-term abortions, and apparently post-birth abortions, would be struck down in the Virginia House.
No regrets for saying with a straight face that he, as a doctor and the governor of Virginia, would support killing a baby after it has already been born. This is on top of fully supporting the barbaric practice of abortion at any stage, of course, which is all murder and violates the Hippocratic oath he would have had to take to practice medicine to “first, do no harm.”
Animal cruelty, on the other hand, is, to Northam, more abhorrent than butchering a newborn or unborn baby, according to Life Site News:
While protecting newborn babies who survive abortions is apparently too much for Northam to support, a law against animal cruelty isn’t. Today he signed a new bill into law that would make animal cruelty a felony in the commonwealth.
Current law requires the animal to die before someone can face felony charges. Starting July 1, under the bill Northam approved, animal abusers could be found guilty of a Class 6 felony.
As it stands, the life of an animal is apparently more valuable than the life of a baby in Virginia.
This is likely why thousands gathered in Virginia on Wednesday to stand up for life in a state where leaders like Northam have so openly denounced protections of newborn baby humans.
This is why we will be in Richmond on Saturday, calling Virginians to repentance for the gruesome sin of abortion in their commonwealth and across the nation.
Please join us. Our voices must be silenced no longer. The lives of our unborn children are worth more than animals. We cannot stand by any longer while the slaughter of innocent children in the womb is not only more accepted by society than animal cruelty, but is actually legal, condoned, and even funded by these corrupt governments.
Mourn with us, pray with us, and repent with us, so that in our lifetime we may finally see the end to the bloodshed.
Ciao…..G’day…….
