Matt Drudge: ‘New Low’ for Ambien Maker to Mock Roseanne ‘While They Drug a Generation’
Conservative media pioneer Matt Drudge slammed drugmaker Sanofi-Aventis on Wednesday for mocking Roseanne Barr’s suggestion that her racially charged remark about Obama White House aide Valerie Jarrett was induced by Ambien.
“The drug company mocking Roseanne for her mental illness while they drug a generation is a new low!” Drudge tweeted at the drugmaker’s Twitter handle, @SanofiUS, including three sources detailing the drug’s scary side effects.

The first report — published by Thought Catalog, titled “44 Ambien Stories That Will Creep You The Eff Out” — is a listicle of people recounting their bizarre experiences while on the drug.
One person says they had no recollection of purchases they made on Amazon.
I tried Ambien for a while. I would take it about 30 minutes before going to bed and browse around online, waiting for it to kick in. I started receiving packages from Amazon that I didn’t order. It was all good stuff that I liked, so I called around to family and friend trying to figure out who was so kind to send me stuff. When my credit card bill came, everything was on there, thankfully nothing I couldn’t afford. I checked my Amazon account, and apparently I ordered them myself and don’t recall it. Thanks Ambien. I stopped taking it for fear of what else I might do.
Another alleges they couldn’t recall sending text messages while on the drug.
Last week I took an Ambien. When I woke up I had changed my shirt and was naked from the waste down. An open but unused condom was on the bed next to me. At 4 in the morning I had texted one of my female friends: “Come to our wonderspace Barely come in Geab son quick teickests ourtaude bsx quick ticks t”
The second link is of Ambien’s rating on Ask a Patient, an online database that ranks prescription drugs and their side effects.
“Never should have started when dr prescribed this. I am presently weaning off. Good riddance to this drug. Nothing positive to gain taking it,” one comment reads.
“Unfortunately, I’ve been taking for 12 years and think I’m addicted. I’m working to get off the medication completely,” says another.
The third source, an article featured on Ranker.com, lists 12 “horrifying acts of violence” perpetrated by those who were allegedly on the drug.
Roseanne Barr set off a firestorm of criticism on Tuesday after describing Jarrett as the product of the Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes, a remark she has since apologized for, later claiming she “Ambien tweeting.”
“It was 2 in the morning and I was Ambien tweeting-it was memorial day too-i went 2 far & do not want it defended-it was egregious Indefensible. I made a mistake I wish I hadn’t but…don’t defend it please. ty.”
Responding to Barr’s tweet, Sanofi-Aventis attempted to dismiss the notion that the drug may have influenced the actress-comedian’s comments.
“People of all races, religions, and nationalities work at Sanofi every day to improve the lives of people around the world,” wrote the pharmaceutical company Sanofi on Twitter. “While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication.”

Hours after the remark, ABC canceled Roseanne, saying in a statement, “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show.”

Jimmy Kimmel is one of the most celebrated men in late night, in part because he’s very much a member of the liberal elite. He says what they think, and says it from one of the biggest stages in Hollywood. He says it on his nightly monologues. He says it during interviews.Roseanne Barr is out of a job — as well she should be. What she had to say about Valerie Jarrett was insensitive at best and beyond disgusting at worst. Apologizing was the very least she could do.
However, one thing rang clear after Barr’s firing — namely, the media’s hypocrisy when it comes to Jimmy Kimmel.
Kimmel is one of the most celebrated men in late night, in part because he’s very much a member of the liberal elite. He says what they think, and says it from one of the biggest stages in Hollywood. He says it on his nightly monologues. He says it during interviews.
Yet, Kimmel has a very different past — one that he’s never apologized for. Before he landed his late-night gig, he was one of the hosts and people behind “The Man Show,” a turn-of-the-millennium program that hasn’t aged well in the era of #MeToo and political correctness.
We’ve highlighted some of Kimmel’s other cringe-inducing antics before, but on this occasion, we’d like to point out yet another skit — this one done in blackface — which he’s never been held to account for.
The skit involved Karl Malone, then a player for the NBA’s Utah Jazz.
Malone was known to speak his mind on a number of subjects, often without a filter, and that provided the media with a but of humor.
However, this bizarre sketch involving Malone and what he believes about aliens — and namely, where they probe — goes a bit too far in mocking not only Malone but also his manner of speaking in a way that could very obviously be considered racist.
Has Kimmel apologized for it, though? Of course not, even though it’s minstrelsy through and through.
Yes, “white people being deducted by alien” and “that’s a d— thing.” Hilarious. And by hilarious, I mean racist.
Kimmel, by the way, gets paid $15 million a year, according to CNBC. Yet, he hasn’t apologized for this kind of thing, or for any of the sexual harassment he engaged in on the old show.
In fact, it’s not like he’s stopped this kind of behavior. Earlier this year he was forced to apologize after using homophobic remarks in a debate against Sean Hannity on Twitter.
At no time did Kimmel face any official censure for any of this. ABC didn’t suspend him or dock his pay, despite the fact that what he did was pretty awful and seemingly worthy of an official response.
So while Barr was vilified for her remark — perhaps deservedly so — Kimmel got off scot-free. It just goes to show that in Hollywood, what you do isn’t as important as what your politics are.

ABC recently jumped to cancel the “Roseanne” revival following an extremely misguided tweet penned by Roseanne Barr about former Obama adviser, Valerie Jarrett.
However, history tells us that Jarrett has far more reprehensible skeletons in her closet than Barr.
Operation Fast and Furious
According to Department of Justice records obtained by Judicial Watch in October 2014, Jarrett “was a key player in the effort to cover up that Attorney General Eric Holder lied to Congress about [knowing about] the Fast and Furious scandal.” The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) infamously lost track of hundreds of weapons they secretly smuggled into Mexico, one of which was eventually used to murder a U.S. Border Patrol agent in Arizona.
Ties to the Communist Party and the Muslim Brotherhood
According to FBI documents released by Judicial Watch in 2015, “the dad, maternal grandpa and father-in-law of President Obama’s trusted senior advisor, Valerie Jarrett, were hardcore Communists under investigation by the U.S. government.” Jarrett’s father-in-law, Vernon Jarrett, was even listed “on the FBI’s Security Index and was considered a potential Communist saboteur who was to be arrested in the event of a conflict with the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR).”
As for Valerie herself, she is a well known “liberal extremist” who “still has connections to many Communist and extremist groups, including the Muslim Brotherhood.”
Secret nuclear talks with Iranian leaders
In 2012, Israeli newspaper Yediot Ahronot reported that Jarrett had engaged in secret talks in Bahrain with representatives of supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Then in 2013, the Times of Israel further reported that the Geneva talks were a mere “facade,” as Jarrett had been conducting secret nuclear negotiations with Iranian leaders for “more than a year.”
Jarrett was famously born in Iran, where her Communist father moved after being discharged from the Army Medical Corps in 1955. It appears her loyalty lies with them rather than with America.
The Libya intervention
In 2016, Barack Obama called his unpreparedness in the Libya intervention his “worst mistake.” Well, he has Valerie Jarrett to thank for that. Jarrett and Hillary Clinton helped choreograph the ouster of the Muammar Gaddafi regime but failed to install an aggressive plan of action following the regime change. The result, of course, was the complete downfall of Libya.
Unpopularity in the White House
Jarrett was Obama’s closest adviser. But it appears the Obamas were the only ones who liked her.
Numerous people within Obama’s administration claimed that Jarrett’s involvement in Obama’s policy-making decisions was often out-of-bounds. According to former Defense Secretary Bob Gates, Jarrett often advised Obama on national security issues, despite having no experience or expertise in that area. Former Obama aide David Axelrod also resented Jarrett’s involvement with Obama’s campaign, writing in his memoir that she had “virtually no campaign experience, at any level.” Indeed, in November 2014, Politico’s Carol Felsenthal urged Obama to “Fire Valerie Jarrett,” writing:
Almost since the start of Barack Obama’s presidency, people who have actual, real duties in the West Wing of the White House—the working, executive part of the government, that is—have been urging him to do something about Valerie Jarrett. Push her into the East Wing, where she can hang out with Michelle Obama and the White House social secretary, or give her an ambassadorship—or something—but for Pete’s sake get her out of the way of the hard work of governing that needs to be done.
Unfortunately, Obama believed in nepotism over merit, and he reaped what he sowed in the end.
Roseanne’s Racist Tweet Blamed On POTUS By Valerie Jarrett Herself
No, this entire debacle regarding Roseanne Barr has not yet slithered out of the mainstream media’s feedback loop quite yet, with a massive expulsion of blame circling the journalism junket over the course of the last 24 hours.
Barr herself, after swearing off Twitter in the hours immediately following her uncouth tweet about Valerie Jarrett’s appearance, returned to the platform to seemingly set the record straight. What actually occurred was far less significant than the embattled comedienne planned, after attempting to blame sleep medication Ambien for her choices the previous evening. Certainly, Ambien has been known to cause some strange side effects in those who remain waking during its use, but we’re not sure that it puts thoughts into your head.
Jarrett weighed in on the controversy, being unable to refrain from exploiting the uproar for her own political purposes. Where Jarrett chose to lay the blame, however, was incredibly bold.
In the aftermath, Jarrett took the high road. “First of all, I think we have to turn it into a teaching moment. I’m fine. I’m worried about all the people out there who don’t have a circle of friends and followers coming to their defense,” she said in a statement.
“The person walking down the street minding their own business and they see someone clinging to their purse or walk across the street… or every black parent I know who has a boy who has to sit down and have a conversation, the talk as we call it. Those ordinary examples of racism that happen every single day.”
But then Jarrett went to tape an MSNBC town hall to address “Everyday Racism in America” with hosts Joy Reid (ha!) and Chris Hayes. On the show, she blamed President Trump — while not naming him.
“The tone does start up at the top, and we like to look up to our president and feel as though he reflects the values of our country,” Jarrett said, sitting alongside race-baiter Rev. Al Sharpton.
No, Valerie, the hate lies in your heart. You turned your anger away from Roseanne Barr and implied that she was enabled somehow by the Commander in Chief of the United States.
This “Donald Trump is a Racist” monologue is tired. It’s boring. It’s old-hat…but then again so are newspapers and cable television. It’s time for the left to come up with some other way of attacking the President, because this constant use of the ‘R’ Word is going to wear it out. It’s like the boy who cried wolf, except with a bunch of cringeworthy virtue signaling thrown in for optics.
Dick Morris: Trump Set To Float Insurance 1/2 the Cost of Obamacare

As Maryland Insurance Commissioner Al Redmer said, Obamacare is in a “death spiral” of fewer enrollees, more dropouts and higher premiums (huge increases coming later this year).
One-third of the people who enrolled in Obamacare in January 2015 dropped out by the end of the year. The data for ensuing years will be worse.
Now, President Donald Trump is considering — and will likely sign — new regulations to offer a much lower-cost health insurance plan with excellent coverage.
These short-term plans cost an average of $342/month vs. $619/month for basically the same coverage under Obamacare.
They are available for periods of one year, though they are renewable.
Obamacare regulations require expensive policies covering every possible service, driving up premiums.
Lacking the 60 votes in the Senate to repeal those regulations requirement, Trump is using the loophole of “short-term” plans to skirt them and lower costs. (You’ll have to do without coverage for sex-change operations).
But, there’s a huge catch that Trump is likely to remedy.
Currently, short-term plans allow premiums to go up — even way up — when people get really sick.
Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar wants Trump to allow “renewal guarantees” on short-term health policies, reversing the Obama rules that prohibit them.
If Trump goes ahead and follows Azar’s recommendation, these new health care policies will provide a full range of benefits — including protection and no higher premiums if you get sick — at about half the cost.
It would be good if we repealed Obamacare.
That way future presidents can’t spring this trap again on the American people.
But if Trump approves Azar’s recommendation, Americans will be able to get good insurance at affordable prices, the Obamacare goal that it never really met.

7Tennessee StarThe New York Times has admitted that it lied about the size of the crowd at the Trump rally held in Nashville on Tuesday night, and changed their crowd estimate after the president called them out on Twitter.
In their original story on the Trump rally, the Times claimed the crowd size was only 1,000–a number that everyone in attendance Tuesday night knew was a misrepresentation of the much larger crowd at the Municipal Auditorium to listen to President Trump speak about his support for Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN-07) and her 2018 campaign for the U.S. Senate seat held by retiring Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN).
Breitbart News was at the rally and estimated the crowd size to be more than 8,000.
Wednesday morning, President Trump called the Times out for their inaccurate crowd size reporting.
“The Failing and Corrupt @nytimes estimated the crowd last night at ‘1000 people,’ when in fact it was many times that number – and the arena was rockin’. This is the way they demean and disparage,” he tweeted.
“They are very dishonest people who don’t ‘get’, me, and never did!” he added in the tweet.

After the presidential broadside, the Washington Times reported that the New York Times“corrected” their crowd estimate later on Wednesday:
The New York Times issued a correction Wednesday about the crowd size at President Trump’s rally after the president challenged the paper’s mistake, acknowledging the audience in Nashville, Tennessee, was more than five times larger than The Times initially reported.
In its article online, The Times said an earlier version of the story “cited an incorrect figure for the number of people attending President Trump’s rally.”
“While no exact figure is available, the fire marshal’s office estimated that approximately 5,500 people attended the rally, not about 1,000 people,” the correction stated.
The Trump campaign issued its own crowd size estimate of 7,500 to 8,000 in a statement released to the press on Wednesday.
