Trump plans to sign executive order curbing birthright citizenship: report
President Trump said in a newly released interview he plans to sign an executive order ending so-called "birthright citizenship" for babies of non-citizens born on U.S. soil -- a move that would mark a major overhaul of immigration policy and trigger an almost-certain legal battle.
Birthright citizenship allows any baby born on U.S. soil to automatically be a U.S. citizen.
The policy, which stems from a disputed but long-recognized interpretation of the 14th Amendment, has given rise to what Trump considers abuse of the immigration system. Trump told "Axios on HBO" that the U.S. is the only country in the world "where a person comes in and has a baby, and the baby is essentially a citizen of the United States ... with all of those benefits."
Despite Trump's claim, the U.S. is not the only nation to have birthright citizenship, but the policy is rare outside of the Americas. Trump called birthright citizenship "ridiculous" and said that "it has to end."
Under current policy, anyone born in the U.S. – regardless of whether they are delivered by a non-citizen or undocumented immigrant – is considered a citizen. The interpretation has been blamed for so-called 'birth tourism' and chain migration.
The 14th Amendment states: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."
Trump, should he pursue the executive order, would face court challenges, and it remains unclear whether he could prevail. Many legal scholars would argue such a change requires a constitutional amendment. But some conservatives argue the existing amendment holds room for interpretation.
Michael Anton, a former national security adviser for Trump, pointed out in July that "there’s a clause in the middle of the amendment that people ignore or they misinterpret – subject to the jurisdiction thereof.”
"What they are saying is, if you are born on U.S. soil subject to the jurisdiction of the United States – meaning you’re the child of citizens or the child of legal immigrants, then you are entitled to citizenship,” Anton told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson in July. “If you are here illegally, if you owe allegiance to a foreign nation, if you’re the citizen of a foreign country, that clause does not apply to you.”
The interview was released after Trump told Fox News that Central American migrants who are approaching the U.S.-Mexico border in caravans are "wasting their time" and vowed, "they are not coming in."
Trump spoke to "The Ingraham Angle" hours after the Pentagon announced it would deploy some 5,200 troops to the southern border in what the commander of U.S. Northern Command described as an effort to "harden the southern border" by stiffening defenses at and near legal entry points.
"When they are captured, we don't let them out," Trump told host Laura Ingraham. "We're not letting them out ... We're not catching, we're not releasing ... We're not letting them into this country."
Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals judge James C. Ho, who was appointed by Trump, has argued that it would be “unconstitutional” to change how the 14th amendment was written and that the line subject to debate applies to the legal obligation of all foreigners and immigrants to follow U.S. law, Axios reported.
'Whitey' Bulger found dead in prison

Notorious Boston gangster James “Whitey” Bulger was found dead Tuesday morning at a West Virginia prison.
It was not immediately clear if the 89-year-old was killed, as some news reports said, or died from other causes.
Bulger was found unresponsive and “life-saving measures were initiated immediately by responding staff,” the Federal Bureau of Prisons said in a news release. “Mr. Bulger was subsequently pronounced dead by the Preston County Medical Examiner.”
The FBI has launched an investigation into the death, the news release said.
Bulger was being held at maximum penitentiary USP Hazelton in West Virginia, where he had been relocated on Monday.
Bulger, the former leader of the Winter Hill Gang, was convicted in 2013 of participating in 11 murders across the U.S. and was serving a life sentence.
He spent 16 years on the run before he was captured in Santa Monica, Calif., in 2011.
He was recently relocated from a Florida prison to a facility in Oklahoma before being transferred to the West Virginia prison.

Studies: Daylight Saving Time Increases Risk of Heart Attack, Stroke

Daylight saving time brings extra daylight and seems harmless, but researchers say it hides a hidden danger: Daylight saving time brings a higher chance of having a stroke or heart attack.
On Nov. 4, daylight saving time ends and clocks get turned back one hour. And while there has been some debate over the necessity of the practice, the health consequences have been overlooked.
The risk of having a stroke goes up 8 percent during the first two days after the beginning of daylight saving time, according to one Finnish study.
In Sweden, researchers found an average 6.7 percent greater risk of heart attack in the three days after we set clocks forward an hour in the spring. Inspired by that finding, a group of U.S. researchers conducted their own study and determined that heart attack risk jumped 24 percent the Monday after switching over to daylight saving time. That risk then tapered off over the remainder of the week.
By contrast, risk for heart attack dropped 21 percent on the Tuesday after the fall time change.
Daylight saving time was created as a way to save fuel during World War I. The United States formally adopted the practice in 1918, hopeful it would encourage consumers to take advantage of the extra sunlight to go shopping or just be outdoors more.
Hawaii and Arizona (aside from the Navajo Nation) are the only states that don't observe daylight saving time. Other states hope to join them. California voters decide in November whether to eliminate the time change. In Florida, the state legislature approved a law to do away with the switch. Congress, however, has final say on whether any such change can happen.
Critics of daylight saving time say the practice is outdated. Many scientists say it's also dangerous at least around the time when clocks "spring forward" and rob most of the population an hour of precious sleep.
The U.S. study about increased heart attack risk did not indicate what could be causing the additional heart attacks, but most of the patients were already vulnerable to heart disease, said Dr. Hitinder Gurm, an interventional cardiologist and one of the U.S. study's authors.
"The people who have heart attacks are the same people who would have a heart attack without the time change," said Gurm, the associate chief clinical officer at the University of Michigan. "It's mostly people who have high blood pressure or diabetes. Generally, their risk factors are not under control."
A combination of those risk factors and the disruption to the body's internal clock, or its circadian rhythm, may be enough to throw the entire body off balance, said Michael Grandner, director of the Sleep and Health Research Program at the University of Arizona in Tucson.
"If you look under the car hood, you see lots of belts and gears and pistons and all sorts of parts that have their own rhythms, but which are related to each other," he said. "The body has lots of similar rhythms, so anything from the rhythm of your blood pressure, to the rhythm of your body temperature, your hormones, how you metabolize blood sugar or consolidate memories. All of these systems are within the same body and many are at least indirectly related to each other."
When daylight saving time kicks in, the process artificially changes the external environment without adjusting the body's internal clock, essentially giving the body jet lag, Grandner said. The body then needs to reset and synchronize its internal systems.
"But when you get people who are ill or who already have some hormonal disruption or other biological problem that depends on a clock, that's where you get problems," he said. "It's why you have things like a heart attack. There's a rhythm to heart function, and when all of a sudden you jostle that rhythm for a heart already very sensitive or diseased or struggling to stay healthy, you disrupt its ability to regulate itself properly for a day or so."
Daylight saving time resumes on March 10, 2019.

The 32 pages of records show the Obama administration sent U.S. taxpayer money to Soros-backed groups in Albania to fund his subversive political activity, and that he assisted the State Department in deciding how to allocate taxpayer funds for certain grants.
The documents obtained through Judicial Watch’s FOIA lawsuit reveal the mechanism by which Soros-backed groups are able to organize efforts like the migrant caravans through groups like Pueblos Sin Fronteras, and the leftist coalition known as CARA.
Additionally, leaked 2016 documents from Soros’ Open Society Foundation, titled “Migration Governance and Enforcement Portfolio Review,” show close ties between his NGO and the United Nations’ migration representative Peter Sutherland related to facilitating mass migration, including shaping international migration policy.
“IMI’s [Open Society International Migration Initiative] access to the Sutherland team’s discussions has allowed us to keep civil society partners up-to-date on the latest developments, in order to inform advocacy and campaigning strategies prior to the events and to plan follow up actions,” the leaked document states.
The Soros document goes on to claim the cozy relationship with Sutherland has “set the stage for institutional reforms to global migration governance, and to break new ground on protections for migrants outside the asylum system,” meaning unfettered protection for migrants regardless of asylum criteria.
Together, these documents paint a picture of how Soros-backed NGOs and the UN are quarterbacking the migrant caravans funneling their way to the U.S. southern border, such as logistics-planning, food and water distribution, and media outreach.
This is why the globalists pulled the “Lou Dobbs Tonight” episode featuring Judicial Watch Director Chris Farrell, resulting in his permanent ban from Fox News and an apology from the network, absurdly claiming his rhetoric was anti semitic.
Farrell clearly outlined how Soros, evidenced by the above documents, allocates taxpayer funds from the State Department to his NGOs to push his far-left political agenda of creating a borderless utopia.
And that’s why he had to be silenced.

‘God Above Everyone’: Brazil Elects Conservative Pro-Life President After Years of Left-Wing Rule
The people of Brazil have elected a new president after a highly controversial and polarizing campaign between rival candidates. Jair Bolsonaro is now the President-elect and, though a divisive figure on many fronts, he is a staunch pro-life advocate and a champion of conservative policy.
The electorate cast 55.2% votes in favor of Bolsonaro and 44.8% in favor of Fernando Haddad, leader of the left-wing Workers’ Party. A strong conservative and former army captain, this month Bolsonaro pledged to protect the unborn at all costs in an agreement with Brazilian Cardinal Orani Tempesta. “We are signing a commitment defending the family, defending the innocence of children in the schools, defending the freedom of religion, against abortion and the legalization of drugs,” the President-elect said at the time, according to LifeSite News.
He also recently stated that “the money of Brazilians will not finance NGOs that promote [abortion].”
The current Brazilian abortion laws allow for the termination of pregnancy in just a few exceptional circumstances; in cases of rape, when there is a clear risk to the mother’s health or when the baby’s brain is seriously deformed.
Bolsonaro, 63, leads the Social Liberal Party (PSL), which is known to be an anti-establishment group that seeks to employ social conservatism mixed with pro-market policies. As such, and due to his strong emphasis on law and order and Brazilian nationalism, the President-elect has been dubbed the “Trump of the Tropics.”
More interestingly, however, the shock election result speaks of a massive shift to the right after hard leftists claimed the last four elections. But the left has not allowed Bolsonaro rise to prominence without relentless and fierce attempts to hold him back by any means possible. He has been subject to intense criticism in the media, and was even physically attacked at a campaign rally last year when a left-wing extremist plunged a knife into his abdomen, causing him to lose 40% of his blood. The President-elect required emergency surgery, but received widespread support for continuing on with his campaign despite being confined to his hospital bed, taking to social media instead making speeches on the campaign trail.

Brazil, a historically Catholic nation, has always maintained a staunch pro-life ethic, despite numerous attempts from the left to legalize terminations in a wider range of circumstances. The rival candidate, Fernando Haddad, said he was “personally against abortion,” but has also indicated his desire to see the laws become more liberal. Thus, most believed him to be a pro-choice candidate, and he enjoyed huge swathes of liberal support. However, when Haddad was recently administered communion by a priest, the Roman Catholic community was outraged. The priest in turn responded with Pope Francis’ infamous phrase: “Who am I to judge?”
But this was not enough for the millions of by-the-book Catholics who are sickened by any notion of support for the “grave sin” of abortive procedures. Indeed, according to Catholic canon law, those who are “obstinately persevering in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to Holy Communion.”
There is little doubt that religion played an enormous part in Bolsonaro’s stunning victory, with around 60% of Brazilians still being self-declared Catholics. However, surveys indicate that this number is changing rapidly as culture becomes increasingly secularized. According to Harvard Divinity School, the number of Roman Catholics “has fallen steadily from 95% of the population in 1940 to approximately two-thirds in 2009.”
Bolsonaro is also an enthusiastic supporter of the state of Israel, another trait shared with his US counterpart. Following in Trump’s footsteps, he has considered moving the Brazilian embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. As for the presence of the Palestinian embassy in Brazil, the President-elect remarked, “Is Palestine a country? Palestine is not a country, so there should be no embassy here.” He has also promised that his first foreign trip will be to Israel.
Following his win, Bolsonaro simply tweeted “Thanks for the support! Let’s go together and change Brazil!” In his televised victory speech, he declared that his chief aim was to “transform Brazil into a great, free and prosperous nation.”
“You will be certain that we will work night and day for it,” he added. The new President’s motto is: “Brazil Above Everything, God Above Everyone.” He will take office officially on January 1, 2019.

But she just shot herself in the foot by making this “joke” about black people.
Hillary Clinton was being interviewed by Kara Swisher, editor of the business and tech blog Recode.
Swisher asked her about Eric Holder’s recent comments when he said, “When they go low, we kick ‘em.”
But Swisher misspoke and referred to Holder as U.S. Senator Cory Booker.
Seeing her opportunity to cash in, Hillary joked, “I know they all look alike.”
The audience erupted in laughter and applause.
During the 2016 campaign, Hillary Clinton landed in hot water for saying that she always carries hot sauce in her bag like Beyoncé.
She said this in an interview on The Breakfast Club, a radio show with a predominantly black audience.
When asked if she was just pandering to the show’s black listeners, she said, “Is it working?”
The Left’s hypocrisy has been totally exposed.
Hillary Clinton will no doubt get a free pass for this remark.
But imagine if President Trump cracked a similar joke. The Social Justice Warrior mob would be rioting in the streets.
And this comes just days after Megyn Kelly was fired by NBC after making comments about black face.

Dick Morris: Media Laughs at Hillary’s Racist Joke While Banishing Megyn Kelly

Why was Megyn Kelly fired from her job at NBC for recalling blackface Halloween disguises from decades past, but Hillary Clinton escapes scot-free after making a racist joke on Friday?
Clinton, seemingly a bit tipsy, was interviewed by Kara Swisher, a contributing writer for The New York Times opinion section, during a forum in New York’s 92nd Street Y.
Asked by Swisher what she had to say about New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker’s suggestion that liberals kick the opposition “in the shins,” Clinton hastened to correct Swisher saying that it was former Attorney General Eric Holder who made the comment.
Then, Clinton gratuitously added, “I know they all look alike.”
Swisher jumped in to say “no they don’t” and both had a good laugh at the racist joke as Swisher complimented Clinton on the exchange saying “well done.”
Even if we agree that Clinton made the comment as a jest, our media is quick to condemn racist jokes, even if they are not intended to be taken seriously. But Clinton is subject to a double standard. When she says it, its OK. She obviously didn’t mean anything by it. One media outlet even described it as “teasing” the interviewer.
But where are the outraged responses from the African-American community? Where are the denunciations for using a put-down used to stereotype blacks for years? Had Donald Trump said these same words, we would never stop hearing about it. It would dominate the headlines. But, from Clinton, hardly a murmur.
ln the same interview, Clinton said she “would like to be president” and that she is uniquely qualified to help extract America from what she said was the morass into which Trump has plunged it.
Then, she said something that history has shown is almost a declaration of her presidential candidacy when she said that she was “not even going to think about 2020″ until after this year’s midterms. Every one of her past candidacies has been preceded by just such a disclaimer.
Isn’t it obvious that, despite her denials, she’s running? And that, with her racism, is just below the surface.
