Sarah Sanders Snaps Photo Of President  Trump During Purple Heart Presentation During an Unannounced Hospital Visit.

On Thursday afternoon, President Donald Trump took a break from the politics of Washington, D.C., to do something he saw as more important — visit wounded warriors and wish them a merry Christmas.
During his unannounced visit, Trump personally awarded one soldier — 1st Lt. Victor Prato of the 127th Airborne Engineer Battalion — the Purple Heart. Prato, 25, suffered soft tissue injuries last month as a result of IED blast that made his vehicle turn over, according to The Hill.

Don’t Look Now, but Trump’s Starting to Win Hearts & Minds
(Chuck Muth) - I didn’t like wine the first time I tried it.  Of course, I was a teenager and it was Boone’s Farm so that certainly had something to do with it.  But now I can’t imagine enjoying a good steak without a nice glass of red wine to accompany it.  It was an “acquired taste.”
I also didn’t care much for Donald Trump when he first became a national figure in the 1990s and was known as “The Donald.”  Part of it had to do with the over-inflated ego and arrogance many people in the heartland find off-putting about many New Yorkers.
I didn’t watch The Apprentice when it first came on the boob tube.  But here’s what happened…
We homeschool our kids.  And part of their education has been teaching them about entrepreneurship, business and marketing.  So we watch shows like Shark Tank and The Profit.  And a couple years ago we finally tuned into Celebrity Apprentice because our hometown hero, Penn Jillette, was a contestant.
And initially I still had a hard time warming up to Trump.  But as the weeks went by I began to realize the bravado was all just part of the entertainment factor.  It was his schtick.  And once you got past that you realized this guy actually knows what the hell he’s doing.
He grew on me. The oversized self-confidence is fully justified.  He takes calculated risks and wins more than he loses.  A defeat isn’t a failure but a lesson on how to do better the next time.  He’s an entrepreneur’s entrepreneur.

So by the time Trump announced his run for president, I was a Trumpster.  Before that first GOP presidential debate I wrote that anyone who sold him short and didn’t think he could pull it off was seriously misjudging the man.  He is a marketing and self-promotion genius.
Just like Mohammed Ali.
I attended a marketing conference in Los Angeles a couple weeks ago and learned how Ali became known as “The Greatest.”  Because he started calling himself that.  And eventually it stuck – in large part because he backed up the hype with performance.  Many fans absolutely hated him at first, but he grew on them.
As we come to the end of President Trump’s first year in office, the same thing is happening.  Trump’s “unique selling proposition” (“USP” in the marketing world) was that he’d make America great again.  And now the hype is being backed up by performance.  And some people who absolutely hated the guy when he first jumped into the race are starting to come around.
For example, this week President Trump threatened to cut off aid to countries in the United Nations that oppose his decision to move the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.  He said, “Let them vote against us.  We’ll save a lot.  We don’t care.”
The Las Vegas Review-Journal has a feature on its editorial page called “All A-Twitter.”  And it featured a pair of tweets in response…
“There are moments, like this one, that I actually appreciate having Donald Trump as president,” wrote Emily Zanotti. “They’re few.  But they exist.”
“Every day I like him more,” added Opinador Libertario.
Donald Trump is decidedly an acquired taste.  And every day more and more Americans are beginning to appreciate him, his agenda, his vision and the self-assured strength of his leadership.
Forget the polls.  Whatever the numbers are today could very well flip to a popular vote landslide by the time the 2020 election rolls around – especially as more and more people start to see more money in their pockets thanks to his historic tax cut package.
Democrats, #NeverTrump Republicans and the fake news media have been trying to knee-cap this guy since Day One. And every time they think they have him beat, he “trumps” them.  They’ve misjudged and under-estimated him at every turn.
And a growing number of American voters are beginning to accept the reality that their lives and those of their families are personally going to be better if Republicans in Congress, especially the Senate, get with the program and just let Trump be Trump.
Like it or not, his Make America Great Again agenda is winning over hearts and minds every day.  Heck, he might even win Minnesota in 2020!
Merry Christmas, everybody.

Barbra Streisand Says Trump Passed Tax Reform For 'Personal Gain.' Then Shapiro Reminds Her Of An Awkward Piece Of Her Own History.

By DAILY WIRE
On Thursday, Barbra Streisand took to Twitter to sound off about the evils of other Americans keeping their money. She tweeted out a piece from Charles Blow of The New York Times calling the tax reform bill “The Great American Tax Heist,” and included her own commentary:
Barbra Streisand @BarbraStreisand

This tax bill could not be clearer: @realdonaldTrump “is milking the American presidency for personal gain.” http://ift.tt/2BKt873 …
President Donald Trump speaks after the Tax Bill was passed.Unfortunately, Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro reminded Streisand about her own history of milking the judicial system for personal gain:
Ben Shapiro @benshapiro

Wait, aren’t you the lady who sued a photographer for $50 million for including a picture of your house in an environmental photo collection? https://twitter.com/barbrastreisand/status/943908574828351488 …
3:10 PM - Dec 21, 2017
The incident Shapiro referred to occurred in 2003, when Streisand decided to sue environmentalist photographer Kenneth Adelman for putting out aerial pictures of her Malibu estate. Adelman ran the California Coastal Records Project, which worked to provide photos of the California coast to government officials for purposes of educating them about erosion. The picture in question had been seen some six times . . . total.
As MentalFloss summarizes, this created the so-called Streisand Effect, in which millions of people accessed the photos after finding out about Streisand’s nutty lawsuit. By the way, Streisand lost her lawsuit and had to pay Adelman’s legal fees.
What a woman of the people.

Justin Trudeau On Returning ISIS Fighters: They'll Be An 'Extraordinarily Powerful Voice' For Canada

The Prime Minister believes reformed Jihadists will help prevent radicalization.

By EMILY ZANOTTI

In a year-end interview with one of Canada's state television networks, CTV, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claimed that he believes returning Jihadists — like those ISIS members headed back to Canada after losing the fight abroad — can be rehabilitated into "powerful" voices against radicalism within Canada.

To say that's wishful thinking, well, that might just be an understatement.
Now that ISIS is nearly 98% defeated — a product of an increased offensive line against the Jihadists in Iraq and elsewhere — Canada anticipates that some of their departed brethren who left to join in the fight for the Caliphate, will return to their motherland. Unlike the United States, apparently, Canada plans on welcoming the ones who claim to be reformed back with open arms.
And Trudeau thinks that's a good thing.
"We know that actually someone who has engaged and turned away from that hateful ideology can be an extraordinarily powerful voice for preventing radicalization in future generations and younger people within the community,” he told the news network.
This puts him at odds with the man in charge of rehabilitating returning radicals, Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale, who recently told the same news network that it might be nearly impossible to completely reform an ISIS fighter hardened from the battlefield. In fact, Goodale said, once a Jihadist has left to join the violent crusade, the chances of him returning with good intentions are almost zero.
“If you want to have a good solid hope of some kind of successful intervention, it has to be at a much earlier stage. You have to prevent the problem before it exists,” Goodale said. “Once a person has been in a war zone, once they’ve been actively engaged in terrorist-related activities, the capacity to turn them around is pretty remote.”
But nevertheless, the doe-eyed Trudeau says he'll persist in turning the Islamic radicals into assets for Canada. He does say that he plans on monitoring returning Jihadists for problems, but he's ready and willing to take them back anyway.

2017 Darwin Awards are out...
Yes, it's that magical time of year again when the Darwin Awards are bestowed, honoring the least evolved among us.
Here is the glorious winner:
When his .38 caliber revolver failed to fire at his intended victim during a hold-up in Long Beach, California would-be robber James Elliot did something that can only inspire wonder. He peered down the barrel and tried the trigger again. This time it worked.
The honorable mentions:
The chef at a hotel in Switzerland lost a finger in a meat cutting machine and after a little shopping round, submitted a claim to his insurance company. The company expecting negligence sent out one of its men to have a look for himself. He tried the machine and he also lost a finger¦ The chef's claim was approved.

A man who shoveled snow for an hour to clear a space for his car during a blizzard in Chicago returned with his vehicle to find a woman had taken the space. Understandably, he shot her.

After stopping for drinks at an illegal bar, a Zimbabwean bus driver found that the 20 mental patients he was supposed to be transporting from Harare to Bulawayo had escaped. Not wanting to admit his incompetence, the driver went to a nearby bus stop and offered everyone waiting there a free ride.

He then delivered the passengers to the mental hospital, telling the staff that the patients were very excitable and prone to bizarre fantasies. The deception wasn't discovered for 3 days.

An American teenager was in the hospital recovering from serious head wounds received from an oncoming train. When asked how he received the injuries, the lad told police that he was simply trying to see how close he could get his head to a moving train before he was hit.

A man walked into a Louisiana Circle-K, put a $20 bill on the counter, and asked for change. When the clerk opened the cash drawer, the man pulled a gun and asked for all the cash in the register, which the clerk promptly provided. The man took the cash from the clerk and fled, leaving the $20 bill on the counter. The total amount of cash he got from the drawer¦ $15. [If someone points a gun at you and gives you money, is a crime committed?

Seems an Arkansas guy wanted some beer pretty badly. He decided that he'd just throw a cinder block through a liquor store window, grab some booze, and run. So, he lifted the cinder block and heaved it over his head at the window. The cinder block bounced back and hit the would-be thief on the head, knocking him unconscious. The liquor store window was made of Plexiglas. The whole event was caught on videotape.

As a female shopper exited a New York convenience store, a man grabbed her purse and ran. The clerk called 911 immediately, and the woman was able to give them a detailed description of the snatcher. Within minutes, the police apprehended the snatcher. They put him in the car and drove back to the store. The thief was then taken out of the car and told to stand there for a positive ID. To which he replied, Yes, officer, that's her. That's the lady I stole the purse from.

The Ann Arbor News crime column reported that a man walked into a Burger King in Ypsilanti, Michigan at 5 A.M., flashed a gun, and demanded cash. The clerk turned him down because he said he couldn't open the cash register without a food order. When the man ordered onion rings, the clerk said they weren't available for breakfast... The frustrated gunman walked away.

When a man attempted to siphon gasoline from a motorhome parked on a Seattle street by sucking on a hose, he got much more than he bargained for. Police arrived at the scene to find a very sick man curled up next to a motor home near spilled sewage. A police spokesman said that the man admitted to trying to steal gasoline, but he plugged his siphon hose into the motorhome sewage tank by mistake. The owner of the vehicle declined to press charges saying that it was the best laugh he'd ever had and the perp had been punished enough!

Trump's Revolution in National Security and Foreign Policy

The excitement over passing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act overshadowed the extraordinary National Security Strategy report released on Monday.

Just as the first comprehensive tax cut bill in 31 years marked a milestone in resetting national economic strategy, the National Security Strategy report is a milestone in resetting America's approach to national security and foreign policy.

The December 18 speech by President Trump highlighting the National Security Strategy was the culmination of eight months of hard work by National Security Advisor H. R. McMaster, Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategy Dina Powell, and Deputy Assistant to the President Dr. Nadia Schadlow.

This strategy paper is especially necessary because President Trump campaigned on, and is now executing, a revolution in how America interacts with the world.

The elite consensus since 1990 has been that the United States is helping develop a New World Order. This new world order was to come from lawyers and diplomats engaging in endless multilateral conferences and reaching agreements that limited sovereignty and had nations reporting and answering to the international bureaucracy. It was a dream world for elitist academics who saw themselves as the all-knowing international bureaucrats, whose careers would be spent "taming" sovereignty with the higher moral order of globalism.

Candidate Trump won the Republican nomination over 16 other candidates by understanding and giving voice to a growing consensus that globalism subordinated America to foreign bureaucrats, that multilateral trade deals hurt America, and that other countries were using American lives and American money to achieve their own goals.

The bipartisan elites in foreign policy and national security were appalled and enraged that some billionaire businessman would have the audacity to challenge their 26-year consensus. They were shocked to watch him actually implement his commitment to refocusing national security and foreign policy around American interests.

Where the bipartisan elites had wanted to put globalism first and make the American economy and the values and interests of the American people secondary to this larger multinational system, President Trump began transforming his campaign rhetoric into official government policy.

If you had said in December 2015 that in two years we would be in the early stages of a revolution in national security and foreign policy, the elites would have thought you were completely out of touch with reality.

Yet consider the first year of the Trump presidency:
  • The new president pulled out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiation on trade.
  • While having dinner with President Xi Jinping of China, President Trump excused himself to announce an airstrike on Syria by 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles in response to Syria using chemical weapons. (Contrast this decisive action with Obama's supposed red line in Syria, which carried no action or consequences when the line was crossed).
  • The President pulled out of the Paris Agreement, arguing it undermines American jobs.
  • President Trump refused to certify that Iran was keeping its side of the nuclear arms agreement.
  • Unlike his two predecessors, who had campaigned in favor of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel but then broke their word and refused to move the embassy, President Trump kept his word, despite overwhelming global pressure against him.
  • President Trump has dramatically increased the pressure on North Korea and is clearly preparing military options, if needed.
  • Even this week, the President instructed the Secretary of Defense and Secretary of the Interior to develop a strategy to break the Chinese and Russian efforts to control rare minerals that are needed for modern technology.
President Trump’s much more assertive presidency is having an impact.
  • The Chinese have greatly increased their pressure on North Korea.
  • Leaders from more than 50 Arab and Muslim nations came to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for the Arab Islamic American Summit to create a counterterrorism center and ally with the United States.
  • Because the Saudi Arabians trust President Trump (while having deeply distrusted President Obama for eight years), the Crown Prince has launched a revolutionary effort to modernize and open Saudi society.
  • President Trump's reliance on Secretary Mattis and the professional military has led to the destruction of ISIS as a territorial power, at a remarkably low cost to America. This has been almost completely ignored by the elite media.
  • After complaining and grumbling, the members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) have begun to increase their financial commitment to defense (something which Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama were unable to achieve).
Beyond immediate actions, it is clear the Trump Administration is going to make economic growth and technological development key parts of its approach to national security.

The efforts to develop maximum American energy resources also has a national security component. The opening of Alaskan oil resources this week fits perfectly with the National Security Strategy report.

The new commitment to American leadership in space is another significant part of that National Security Strategy.

President Trump has consistently articulated the shift away from globalism in favor of American interests during his campaign. He did this in his inaugural address, in his speeches in Warsaw and at the United Nations – and this week at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. The National Security Strategy report puts the President's actions into a larger context of planned change from the recent past.

It is well worth reading and studying.

Developing: Trump Personally Declares War on UN, Doubles Down on Haley Statement

The Arab nations of the world are not happy with America’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel… but President Donald Trump and U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley just sent an epic message that was heard loud and clear at the United Nations.

Earlier this month, Trump stunned the world by announcing that the U.S. was recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and would be moving its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. In response, the United Nations tried to undermine that decision with a resolution scolding America.

Instead of caving in, Haley and Trump doubled down, and drew a clear line in the sand.

Haley firmly pointed out that the United States gives huge sums of money to nations around the world — and if the U.N. really wanted to tell America where to put its own embassy, the stream of cash would probably stop.

“The United States will not be told by any country where we can put our embassy,” she declared on Twitter.

“At the UN we’re always asked to do more & give more,” the tough former governor continued in a public post. “So, when we make a decision, at the will of the American people, about where to locate OUR embassy, we don’t expect those we’ve helped to target us.”

Then she issued a warning to anti-Israel nations: The free money train doesn’t go on forever.

“On Thursday there’ll be a vote criticizing our choice,” she stated. “The US will be taking names.”

The United States will not be told by any country where we can put our embassy.

4:22 PM - Dec 18, 2017
Haley can easily hold her own, but Trump decided to make sure her message resonated strongly. At a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Trump backed his ambassador, and reiterated the stern warning.

“I like the message that Nikki sent yesterday at the United Nations for all of these nations that take our money and then they vote against us at the Security Council, or they vote against us potentially at the (general) assembly,” he said.

“They take hundreds of millions of dollars and even billions of dollars, and then they vote against us. Well, we’re watching those votes,” he declared, according to The Hill.

“Let them vote against us, we’ll save a lot. We don’t care.”

Haley and Trump’s message was obvious: The weak Obama era is over, and there’s a new sheriff in town. Two of them, actually.

“Our great citizens who love this country are tired of this country being taken advantage of – we’re not going to be taken advantage of any longer,” Trump declared.

“This isn’t like it used to be where they could vote against you, and then you pay them hundreds of millions of dollars and nobody knows what they’re doing,” the president continued.

The reality is that every president since Bill Clinton has promised to recognize Jerusalem as the diplomatic capital of Israel. None of them did it.

Trump pledged that he would, and then he delivered. What three previous presidents failed to do, Trump has just accomplished… and the rest of the world better start paying attention.

President Trump Commits to Defending Life

While he told voters during the campaign that he was indeed “pro-life,” Trump had just a few years earlier been profoundly pro-abortion, even while admitting that he did not like the reality of abortion.
However, as the first year of his presidency comes to a close, we now know that President Trump may actually be the MOST pro-life president we’ve ever had. In the last year, he has done more to end the evil scourge of abortion than any President before him.
In a recent letter to pro-life advocates the President once again made his support for our cause clear.
“Thank you for taking the time to express your views regarding abortion.
The right to life is fundamental and universal. As your President, I am dedicated to protecting the lives of every American, including the unborn.
As I have made clear, organizations like Planned Parenthood should not receive Federal funding if they perform abortions. For that reason, I was proud to sign into law a bill that allows States to prioritize how they spend their Federal family planning grant money, including the choice to withhold taxpayer funding from organizations that insist on performing abortions.
I am also dedicated to ensuring that America does not fund abortions abroad. That is why one of the first actions I took as President was to reinstate and modernize the Mexico City policy, which ensures that American taxpayer dollars are not used to fund organizations that perform abortions in foreign countries.
At the same time, I am deeply committed to investing in women’s health and support Federal funding for programs that provide world-class services for women, such as cardiovascular care, breast and cervical cancer screenings, family planning and gynecological care, and obstetrics and prenatal care. I will continue to advocate for policies that promote better healthcare for women.
Thank you again for your suggestions. As President, I am committed to protecting the right to life and supporting women’s health services. Please visit www.WhiteHouse.gov to read more on how I am delivering on these issues for the American people.”
We have much to be thankful for in the presidency of Donald Trump, most glaringly has been his stalwart defense of innocent life.

Laura Ingraham Outs Tom Hanks, Shares the Real Reason He Attacked President Trump

Fox News host Laura Ingraham criticized actor Tom Hanks on Wednesday for his not-so-subtle dig at President Donald Trump. Ingraham also revealed the real reason the movie star took aim at the current administration.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter discussing his latest movie, “The Post,” the 61-year-old actor said he would not want to screen the film at the Trump White House.
“If Donald Trump wanted you to screen this movie at the White House, would you go?” THR asked.
“I don’t think I would,” Hanks responded, before noting that in November 2016, he never would have been able to imagine what has occurred during Trump’s presidency.
According to “The Ingraham Angle” host, though, there is one main reason that Hanks took aim at Trump, and it didn’t have to do with his political convictions. Instead, Ingraham indicated that Hanks was just trying to get publicity for his movie.
“After the year Hollywood had with (Harvey) Weinstein and (Kevin) Spacey et al, you’d kind of think that its brightest stars would practice some humility on the whole moral barometer front,” Ingraham said in opening the segment.
“Well, no such luck,” she added. “Instead one of America’s favorite actors is insulting the president just to sell his movie.”
Ingraham noted that Hanks is a very talented actor “who has given us so many iconic moments on the screen.” But in terms of politics, she suggested he doesn’t really know what he’s talking about.
“Imagine a world, Hanks explained, where the president treats papers like The Washington Post as purveyors of fake news,” she said, summing up Hanks’ point of view. “Hey Gump, maybe he treats them that way because half the time they are.”
Hanks’ latest movie tells the story of The Washington Post’s work reporting on the top-secret Pentagon Papers. In the interview, he compared the Nixon administration’s flouting of the First Amendment to the Trump administration’s current treatment of the news media.
Ingraham then suggested that perhaps the time is right to “cast away Tom Hanks,” a reference to the actor’s 2000 film “Cast Away.”
“I kind of like him better, by the way, on the deserted island talking to that volleyball,” she said. “That was cute. That’s the dialogue that I enjoy from Tom Hanks. Riveting. I almost thought it was a basketball, I had forgotten.”
During his THR interview, Hanks had said that the many controversies surrounding the Trump White House have made him realize that it’s time to take action.
“And individually we have to decide when we take to the ramparts,” the actor said. “You don’t take to the ramparts necessarily right away, but you do have to start weighing things.”
“You may think: ‘You know what? I think now is the time.’ This is the moment where, in some ways, our personal choices are going to have to reflect our opinions. We have to start voting, actually, before the election.”
Returning to the original question about a potential film screening at the White House, Hanks said, “I would probably vote not to go.”
But as Ingraham noted, that is not going to be an issue anyway, as Trump has not and most likely will not ask him to screen the movie at the presidential residence.

BOMBSHELL REPORT REVEALS UP TO 30% OF FEDERAL INMATES ARE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS

Out of a total of 185,507, federally incarcerated individuals, over 19% are confirmed illegal immigrants

Bombshell Report Reveals Up To 30% Of Federal Inmates Are Illegal ImmigrantsThe Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has released its findings on the immigration status of federal prison inmates, as mandated in a controversial Executive Order signed during the President Trump’s first week in the White House.

The report reveals that of the 37,557 confirmed immigrants in the federal prison system, 35,334 (94%) of them are in the United States illegally – which means out of a total of 185,507, federally incarcerated individuals, over 19% are confirmed illegal immigrants – which, in 2014, cost U.S. taxpayers $1.87 billion to house. It should be noted that the 19% figure is based on known illegals in federal prison – while 58,766 individuals are “known or suspected” to be illegal. If we apply the 94% confirmed illegal rate to the “known or suspected” population, it brings the total number of potential incarcerated illegal immigrants to 55,240 – or 30% of federal incarcerations.
(DHS Alien Incarceration Report , Q4 2017)

The report also points out that the federal prison population is roughly 10%, with state and local facilities containing the vast majority of incarcerated individuals in the U.S.

“The American people deserve a lawful system of immigration that serves the national interest,” said Attorney General Jeff Sessions, adding “But at the border and in communities across America, our citizens are being victimized by illegal aliens who commit crimes. Nearly 95 percent of confirmed aliens in our federal prisons are here illegally.  We know based on sentencing data that non-citizens commit a substantially disproportionate number of drug-related offenses, which contributes to our national drug abuse crisis. The simple fact is that any offense committed by a criminal alien is ultimately preventable.”

Immigrant rights groups predictably had a major problem with the report, claiming racism and manipulated data.

“The report proves one thing only: The administration will take any opportunity possible to twist facts to demonize immigrants,” said Tom Jawetz, VP for immigration policy at the very liberal Center for American Progress, adding “The vast majority of immigrants in federal prison are there for crimes that only immigrants can be charged with – illegal entry and illegal entry after removal. When you cook the books you shouldn’t pretend to be surprised by the results.”

The January 25th Executive Order, 13768; “Enhancing Public Safety in the Interior of the United States,” was designed to use all available resources to deport incarcerated illegals and enforce existing immigration laws. The order states “We cannot faithfully execute the immigration laws of the United States if we exempt classes or categories of removable aliens from potential enforcement. The purpose of this order is to direct executive departments and agencies (agencies) to employ all lawful means to enforce the immigration laws of the United States.”

The order calls for the hire of 10,000 additional immigration officers, allows for issuing fines and penalties to unlawful aliens, allows State and local law enforcement agencies to act as immigration officers, and yanks Federal grant money from sanctuary cities – which was later reversed nationwide by a Chicago judge and ruled unconstitutional by Santa Clara County, CA  judge William Orrick III.

What wasn’t killed by activist judges, however, was the Executive Order’s mandate to provide quarterly reports on incarcerated immigrants. The EO reads:

To promote the transparency and situational awareness of criminal aliens in the United States, the Secretary and the Attorney General are hereby directed to collect relevant data and provide quarterly reports on the following:
(a) the immigration status of all aliens incarcerated under the supervision of the Federal Bureau of Prisons;

(b) the immigration status of all aliens incarcerated as Federal pretrial detainees under the supervision of the United States Marshals Service; and

(c) the immigration status of all convicted aliens incarcerated in State prisons and local detention centers throughout the United States.

The Order also sets out enforcement actions, which “shall prioritize for removal those aliens described by the Congress… …removable aliens who: (a) Have been convicted of any criminal offense; (b) Have been charged with any criminal offense, where such charge has not been resolved; (c) Have committed acts that constitute a chargeable criminal offense; (d) Have engaged in fraud or willful misrepresentation in connection with any official matter or application before a governmental agency; (e) Have abused any program related to receipt of public benefits; (f) Are subject to a final order of removal, but who have not complied with their legal obligation to depart the United States; or (g) In the judgment of an immigration officer, otherwise pose a risk to public safety or national security. One outstanding question now is what will a seemingly sleepwalking Jeff Sessions do about it? In May, Sessions announced the expansion and modernization of the Justice Department’s Institutional Hearing Program, which is responsible for deportation hearings of incarcerated individuals. The measures are intended to fast-track the deportation of illegal immigrants convicted of crimes, which according to Sessions, will speed up the process by removing the criminal immigrant as soon as their sentence is complete – as opposed to sending them to another facility to await deportation. “We owe it to the American people to ensure that illegal aliens who have been convicted of crimes and are serving time in our federal prisons are expeditiously removed from our country as the law requires,” Sessions said in a statement. Sessions’ May proposal established 14 federal prisons and six contract facilities for deportation proceedings, which the Attorney General says is a top priority going forward.
