Sean Hannity May Leave Fox News After President’s Resignation

Rumors have been circulating that Sean Hannity will be departing Fox News now that his friend and ally at the network, Bill Shine, has resigned.

Mediaite speculated by reviewing Hannity’s contract which includes a “key man clause,” allowing him to exit should a particular person leave the company.

The Daily Beast followed that up with a report that indicated certain industry ‘insiders’ knew of the conservative host’s plans to leave Fox, even hinting he could be gone by week’s end.

Now, Hannity himself is responding, and much to the dismay of liberals celebrating the chaos at Fox News, it appears the long-time host could be staying put.

Sean Hannity took to Twitter Monday to deny reports that he was looking to exit his hosting duties at Fox News for greener pastures. Speculation grew after he appeared upset over a report that his former producer and Fox News co-president Bill Shine was going to be fired. That report turned out to be correct, as Fox News announced Shine’s abrupt departure on Monday.

The tweet linked to a report from IJ Review quoting a source that said Hannity was not negotiating for an exit at all.

Hannity had responded on Twitter to the earlier reports that Shine was being fired by saying that if it were true, it would be the “total end” of Fox News.

Here’s what Hannity had to say about the reports:

Now, you’ll notice that the message links to an article from the Independent Journal Review, which cites another source claiming the opposite of the Daily Beast report, that Hannity is ‘not negotiating’ an exit from Fox News.

It also included a brief statement from Fox News that said any speculation that Hannity was leaving the network was “completely untrue.”

The statement was made on behalf of both Fox and Hannity.
