Sour Pelosi poo-poos booming economy: ‘Strong employment numbers mean little’
BY KYLE OLSON

The Trump economy is booming, but that’s not good enough for Nancy Pelosi.
The May unemployment rate was a stunningly low 3.8 percent, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Black unemployment is the lowest ever: 5.9 percent, the Washington Examiner reports.
But instead of celebrating the incredible economic activity, the House Speaker wannabe shrugged.
“May’s jobs report shows that strong employment numbers mean little to the families hit with soaring new costs under the Republicans’ watch,” the House Minority Leader said in a statement.
She added:
Republicans’ cruel, cynical health care sabotage campaign is already spiking families’ premiums by double digits and pushing millions off their coverage, according to the nonpartisan CBO.  Big Pharma continues to hoard the benefits of the GOP tax scam, using their handouts to further enrich executives and shareholders instead of lowering prescription drug costs for seniors and sick kids.  At the same time, the President’s reckless policies are exploding gas prices, wiping out the few meager gains that some families should have received from the GOP tax scam, as wages remain stagnant.
“Democrats will never stop fighting for the hard-working middle class families who are the backbone of our nation,” she claimed.
It’s not the first time Pelosi was sour about positive economic news.
She had a similar response during Trump’s first speech to Congress last year.
Trump ran down a list of companies that have announced investments and job additions in the last several weeks.
“Since my election, Ford, Fiat Chrysler, General Motors, Sprint, Softbank, Lockheed, Intel, Walmart and many others have announced that they will invest billions and billions of dollars in the United States and create tens of thousands of new American jobs,” Trump said.
As many stood to applaud, Pelosi remained seated with a sour look on her face.
Pelosi couldn’t find joy in dozens of companies passing along the tax cut savings onto employees in the form of bonuses, routinely calling the $1,000-or-more checks “crumbs.”

ROSEANNE: They replaced my reruns with COSBY!

BY KYLE OLSON
If only Roseanne Barr had called Valerie Jarrett a “feckless c*nt” like Samantha Bee referred to Ivanka Trump, an apology would have sufficed.
Alas, it didn’t, so TV execs are replacing her show with that of a convicted sex abuser.
After Barr said Jarrett resembled someone from “Planet of the Apes,” her show was summarily canceled, and now, the star says her reruns are being pulled, too. Get this! They pulled all my reruns and replaced me with COSBY! it's kinda hilariously gross.

Elizabeth Warren praises communist China ‘long-term whole-of-government’ strategy
BY VICTOR SKINNER

Sen. Elizabeth Warren would rather praise communist China than the President of the United States.
The 2020 presidential hopeful and darling of the left appeared on CBS This Morning to hawk her new book when host John Dickerson brought up North Korea and the progress President Trump’s made in pressuring the rogue nation to denuclearize its military.
But Warren insisted the president doesn’t have a clear strategy, and suggested Trump take cues from North Korea’s communist neighbor to the north.
CBS This Morning@CBSThisMorning
Senator Elizabeth Warren has become one of the Democrats' leading voices in Congress. Warren's latest book, "This Fight is Our Fight: The battle to save America's middle class," is out today in paperback. @elizabethforma joins us:
“There is a North Korean official apparently coming to America. You said the president doesn’t look like he has a strategy, but it looks like his calling off the summit last week seems to have lit a fire under the North Koreans. Three hostages have been released, so maybe there is a strategy?” Dickerson said.
“You know, look. North Korea is a bad actor, we understand that, uh and uh, the president had already promised that they could have a meeting with the President of the United States, something that both Kim Jong Un’s father and grandfather had long, long sought,” Warren said.
“Then it’s been back and it’s been forth. I want this to work, I want this to work to reduce the threat to South Korea, to Japan, to our allies in the region, to the United States of America, to the entire world, but it really takes a strategy and I look at the comparison with China,” she said.
“Look at what China is doing,” Warren continued. “China’s got the long term arc and it’s playing everybody. It’s playing North Korea, it’s playing South Korea, it’s playing the United States of America because it has a long-term whole-of-government strategy that keeps driving towards an end.”
The “whole-of-government” strategy is no doubt a product of China’s communist government, which has repeatedly jailed or tortured anyone who doesn’t align with its views.
The Communist party of China – the only political party in China – also recently announced that it eliminated term limits for the country’s president and vice president, which essentially turned the China’s 65-year-old leader Xi Jinping into a dictator for life, The Guardian reports.
“What is going on here is that Xi Jinping is setting himself up to rule China as a strongman, a personalistic leader – I have no problem calling it a dictator – for life,” Susan Shirk, former President Bill Clinton’s deputy Secretary of State, told the news site.
The move solidifies Communist control over the “whole-of-government,” making it much easier to keep “driving towards an end” than in a Democracy like America, though Shirk and others seem to believe that “strategy” will ultimately fail.
“It’s hard for me to see how this kind of police state that puts such severe restrictions on civil society and on information and on the educational system is really going to be a successful modern China,” Shirk told The Guardian. “I expect there is going to be some form of push back eventually – he’s already lost the intellectuals.”

Jesuit Priest Tells Catholics to Fight Abortion by Electing ‘Pro-Choice Democrats’

Fr Thomas Reese SJCourtesy of USCIRF
Jesuit Father Thomas Reese has published a disgraceful essay urging Americans to vote for pro-choice Democrats while claiming that defunding Planned Parenthood is “irresponsible.”
Father Reese and his ilk makes me question my Catholicism.  I have chosen the church...Moe Lauzier
Writing for Religion News Service (RNS)— Father Reese, the former editor-in-chief of America Magazine—says that “pro-lifers must consider voting for candidates, even pro-choice Democrats, who will reduce the number of abortions by supporting programs that help mothers and their children.”
In his political propaganda piece aimed at discrediting President Trump’s recent moves to partially defund Planned Parenthood, Father Reese abandons his role as a Catholic cleric to stump for the Democratic Party.
Closing Planned Parenthood clinics “that provide health care and birth control to women before replacements are up and running is irresponsible and counterproductive,” he writes.
Employing convoluted logic meant to assuage the consciences of Christians who support pro-abortion legislators, Reese makes the claim that Democrats like Hillary Clinton who support Planned Parenthood and abortion-on-demand are actually better for the pro-life cause than Republicans who attempt to install pro-life justices or draft legislation aimed at restricting abortions.
“Pro-life voters must choose between Republican rhetoric and Democratic results,” he writes, in bold advocacy for the party that applies a pro-abortion litmus test to all its potential political candidates.
Reese’s “argument” goes something like this: Abortion will never be illegal, and pro-lifers must accept this fact. They must, therefore, abandon efforts to rescind or limit laws permitting abortion and devote themselves, instead, to enacting more expansive government programs that support women so they will not choose to have abortions.
“Trying to preserve anti-abortion laws or trying to reverse the legalization of abortion is simply not working,” Reese writes, citing the recent Irish abortion referendum as a case in point.
Thinking that abortion could ever be illegal is “simply ignoring reality,” he contends. “Time is on the side of the pro-choice movement.”
Pro-life advocates should, instead, “strongly support programs that give women a real choice — increasing the minimum wage, free or affordable day care for working and student moms, free or affordable health care for mothers and their children, parental leave programs, education and job-training programs, income and food supplements, etc.” he writes.
Had he lived a century-and-a-half ago, Father Reese would have found himself among the shameful Christian clerics who argued that since abolition was impossible and black slavery would never be illegal, efforts should be made to help slave owners treat their human property as nicely as possible. Such political “realism” has ever been the ally of moral cowardice.
In direct opposition to the U.S. Bishops, Reese further asserts that “the contraceptive mandate of the Obama administration will do more to reduce the number of abortions than all of the legislative gimmicks of Republican legislators.”
“If European Catholic institutions can pay money into national health programs that perform abortions, then American Catholic employers can pay for insurance programs that pay for birth control,” he insists.
The pro-life movement “has to support birth control as a means of avoiding unwanted pregnancies,” he insists, and those, like the Catholic church, “who consider artificial contraception to be wrong must also recognize that abortion is a greater evil. When forced to choose, one must choose the lesser of two evils.”
What Father Reese may forget from his seminary lessons in moral theology, the concept of choosing a “lesser evil” never justifies choosing any moral evil so that good may come from it. It refers, rather, to opting for an imperfect—but not immoral—solution to a problem when a perfect solution is unavailable.
Father Reese’s love affair with the Democratic Party and his willingness to sacrifice moral truth for political gain is reminiscent of the conduct of his confrère, Jesuit Father Robert Drinan (D-MA), who served in the House of Representatives from 1971 to 1981.
A vocal advocate of abortion rights, Father Drinan notably supported President Bill Clinton’s veto of the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act in 1996.
Soon after, the redoubtable archbishop of New York, Cardinal John O’Connor, rebuked Drinan in his weekly column in Catholic New York. “You could have raised your voice for life; you raised it for death. Hardly the role of a lawyer. Surely not the role of a priest.”
One can only hope that, similarly, moral clarity will prevail in the present case. If Father Reese wishes to speak for the Catholic church, he had best get his story straight.

Conservative media pioneer Matt Drudge slammed drugmaker Sanofi-Aventis on Wednesday for mocking Roseanne Barr’s suggestion that her racially charged remark about Obama White House aide Valerie Jarrett was induced by Ambien.
“The drug company mocking Roseanne for her mental illness while they drug a generation is a new low!” Drudge tweeted at the drugmaker’s Twitter handle, @SanofiUS, including three sources detailing the drug’s scary side effects.

The first report — published by Thought Catalog, titled “44 Ambien Stories That Will Creep You The Eff Out” — is a listicle of people recounting their bizarre experiences while on the drug.
One person says they had no recollection of purchases they made on Amazon.
I tried Ambien for a while. I would take it about 30 minutes before going to bed and browse around online, waiting for it to kick in. I started receiving packages from Amazon that I didn’t order. It was all good stuff that I liked, so I called around to family and friend trying to figure out who was so kind to send me stuff. When my credit card bill came, everything was on there, thankfully nothing I couldn’t afford. I checked my Amazon account, and apparently I ordered them myself and don’t recall it. Thanks Ambien. I stopped taking it for fear of what else I might do.
Another alleges they couldn’t recall sending text messages while on the drug.
Last week I took an Ambien. When I woke up I had changed my shirt and was naked from the waste down. An open but unused condom was on the bed next to me. At 4 in the morning I had texted one of my female friends: “Come to our wonderspace Barely come in Geab son quick teickests ourtaude bsx quick ticks t
The second link is of Ambien’s rating on Ask a Patient, an online database that ranks prescription drugs and their side effects.
“Never should have started when dr prescribed this. I am presently weaning off. Good riddance to this drug. Nothing positive to gain taking it,” one comment reads.
“Unfortunately, I’ve been taking for 12 years and think I’m addicted. I’m working to get off the medication completely,” says another.
The third source, an article featured on Ranker.com, lists 12 “horrifying acts of violence” perpetrated by those who were allegedly on the drug.
Roseanne Barr set off a firestorm of criticism on Tuesday after describing Jarrett as the product of the Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes, a remark she has since apologized for, later claiming she “Ambien tweeting.”
“Guys I did something unforgivable so do not defend me,” she said in a now-deleted tweet.
“It was 2 in the morning and I was Ambien tweeting-it was memorial day too-i went 2 far & do not want it defended-it was egregious Indefensible. I made a mistake I wish I hadn’t but…don’t defend it please. ty.”
Responding to Barr’s tweet, Sanofi-Aventis attempted to dismiss the notion that the drug may have influenced the actress-comedian’s comments.
“People of all races, religions, and nationalities work at Sanofi every day to improve the lives of people around the world,” wrote the pharmaceutical company Sanofi on Twitter. “While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication.”

Hours after the remark, ABC canceled Roseanne, saying in a statement, “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show.”
