Will 2018 Elections Be Hit With A “Red Wave?”
American Spotlight
Political commentator and former Bill Clinton adviser Dick Morris ended the idea of any kind of “blue wave” sweeping the nation for the 2018 midterm elections. He insisted there will rather be a “red wave” if anything.
Morris believes “Democrats are overplaying their hand” by attacking Trump for Michael Cohen and Stormy Daniels.
“I think that [Democrats] see fool’s gold in these scandals,” Morris said. “They’re putting everything behind the Stormy Daniels scandal and Michael Cohen … and the country doesn’t give a damn.”
“There is no blue wave coming. There is a red wave. And what makes it red is the blood of the Democratic Party.”
Armed School Resource Officer Takes Down School Shooter in Illinois
A police car sits in front of Dixon High School in Dixon, Ill., after a police officer confronted and injured an armed man at the school, May 16, 20
At 8:00 am Wednesday morning, as students gathered in the gymnasium for graduation practice at Dixon High School in Illinois, an armed gunman opened fire on students, but was quickly confronted by an armed school resource officer. “It is not clear where the officer was stationed at the time but he was able to confront the shooter quickly,” Dixon Police Chief Steve Howell said.
The gunman, a 19-year old former student, failed in shooting the officer, who returned fire and wounded the unnamed gunman before he could shoot any students. The suspect suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while the officer, identified as Mark Dallas, suffered no injuries.
According to Chief Howell, “‘With shots ringing out in the hallways of the school, he charged towards the suspect and confronted him head-on. Because of his heroic actions, countless lives were saved. We are forever indebted to him for his courage and his bravery.”
The “school resource officer” position at Dixon was originally funded by the COPS federal grant to help prevent school violence.
The gunman struck in the confrontation and taken into custody and is currently receiving medical treatment. Authorities believe the gunman acted alone and that there is no further threat to the community, according to a press release from city manager Danny Langloss.
Still, all public schools in Dixon, located about 80 miles from Chicago, were put on lockdown following the incident so authorities may continue to investigate.

Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner tweeted. “Today, we should all be very thankful to school resource officer Mark Dallas for his bravery and quick action to immediately diffuse a dangerous situation at Dixon High School.”
This comes among a renewed national debate on having armed officers in schools or allowing teachers that already have concealed carry permit to carry on campus. At least eight states already allow teachers K-12 in some capacity to carry guns, including Kansas, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wyoming.
Report: John Brennan Worked ‘Pee Dossier’ into Obama’s Daily Briefing, Called Steele ‘Credible Source’
Alex Wong/Getty Images
A new report alleges that former CIA Director John Brennan included claims from the dubious Steele dossier into President Barack Obama’s Presidential Daily Brief — without disclosing the source of the allegations.
“Brennan put some of the dossier material into the PDB [presidential daily briefing] for Obama and described it as coming from a ‘credible source,’ which is how they viewed Steele,” a source close to the House probe told Real Clear Investigations reporter Paul Sperry.
“But they never corroborated his sources,” the source added.
The allegations began to reach the PDB after Obama ordered Brennan to produce a report on Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election, just one month after President Donald Trump won the White House. In January, both Obama and Trump were briefed on the Intelligence Community’s findings.
Brennan’s actions appear to contradict former DNI chief James Clapper and fired FBI Director James Comey’s claims that details of the dossier were unclassified, despite being a part of the highly classified PDB.
In February, Brennan was ensnared in the House Intelligence Committee Republicans’ investigation into the “origins” of the Steele dossier. The former spy chief was asked to complete a questionnaire concerning his possible role in the sourcing and dissemination of allegations detailed in the unverified dossier.
Brennan testified to Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) in May 2017 that he had “no awareness” that Steele existed.
Brennan also told House investigations that the dossier was “not in any way used as the basis for the intelligence community’s assessment” of Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Kevin McCarthy Slams Discharge Petition Amnesty Push: ‘Number One Way’ to ‘Depress Intensity’ in Midterms
The Associated Press
In a House GOP conference meeting on Tuesday, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy lit into an effort by some in the party to lead a discharge petition to force an amnesty bill to the floor of the House of Representatives.
In a House GOP conference meeting on Tuesday, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy lit into an effort by some in the party to lead a discharge petition to force an amnesty bill to the floor of the House of Representatives.
“Our numbers are better,” McCarthy told House GOP members, per a source in the room. “If election is today we win. Will we continue to grow. But few things can disrupt us. We cannot disrupt ourselves. Intensity levels are still not there, and discharge petitions release the power of the floor that the American people gave us the responsibly to hold. When you release that power the majority goes to Nancy. If you want to depress intensity this is number one way to do it. We can debate internally but don’t let someone else like Nancy decide our future.”
McCarthy said that the discharge petition strategy ensures three things: First, the bill will never become law. Second, the effort will “depress our base.” And third, it takes “everyone down too.”
An additional source in the room told Breitbart News that McCarthy made clear this was the “surest way” to the minority for House Republicans.
“McCarthy laid down the marker that this is the surest way to the minority,” a source familiar with McCarthy’s remarks said. “The message was loud and clear.”
McCarthy’s throw down against the discharge petition effort, a rebuke of amnesty forces inside the GOP from the party’s number two official in House leadership, comes as a group of members have tried to use the tactic to bypass leadership to force a floor vote on amnesty legislation.
If the 17 GOP members can collect a total of 25 GOP signatures on their discharge petition, then 193 Democrats will join them to get the 218 signatures needed to stage a floor vote, despite leadership opposition. Their planned floor vote will be a rare “Queen of the Hill” debate around four bills. That plan will allow business-first GOP legislators to unite behind an amnesty bill that will pass with support from 193 Democrats — and also split their votes to ensure the failure of pro-American immigration bills.
All of this also comes as McCarthy will appear alongside President Donald Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions at the White House later on Wednesday to focus on efforts to combat sanctuary cities. The House passed Kate’s Law and another bill to combat sanctuary cities last summer, bills that have yet to come up for votes in the U.S. Senate.
“Thank you, Mr. President, for bringing us together and sharing your voice with millions of Americans who understand that the very premise of giving safe harbor to illegal felons is at odds with the laws of our nation,” McCarthy is expected to say at the White House, per a source familiar with his planned remarks. “I know the American people – and the Californians around this table and back home — appreciate your leadership on these issues.”
McCarthy will highlight how it is National Police Week and remember and honor immigration officers at the White House.
“These officers are sentinels for our Constitution, our borders—and for the rule of law itself,” McCarthy will say.
He will also discuss how Republicans, under Trump’s leadership, have stepped up on immigration enforcement.
“With your leadership, Mr. President — Republicans in Congress have proven that we are serious about addressing illegal immigration. That starts first and foremost with border security,” McCarthy will say. “We have stepped up enforcement efforts and set aside a billion dollars for a border wall. Construction is already under way.”
McCarthy will also hammer Democrat obstruction.
“Yes, America is making progress on illegal immigration. But every step of the way we have been opposed by Democrats and their idea of ‘sanctuary cities,’” McCarthy will say. “Their unprecedented campaign to decide which laws to follow and which ones to ignore has made it harder for lawful authorities to do their jobs. They are playing politics at the expense of the American people. Democratic obstruction is thwarting law enforcement operations. It is endangering our officers. It is shielding criminal aliens from detention and deportation. And it is only getting worse.”
And McCarthy will also say that enforcement and obeying of immigration ls “essential” not “optional.”
“Federal law is the supreme law of the land, and immigration laws are no different,” McCarthy will say. “Obeying these laws is not optional—it is essential to the good working order of our government. Federal immigration officers deserve our respect for the dangerous and difficult work they do. More than that, they deserve our full support. This administration and this House have their backs. I know the American people do, too.”
The Purported Link Between Schizophrenia and Marijuana
The legalization of Marijuana is a hot topic and disappointment to state legislators as their greedy high-taxing plans have driven the drug back underground.
That the Federal government has not removed “Grass,” “Mary Jane” or “Weed” from the “Class I Narcotic” list has complicated the situation. It allows Federal officials to seize money and property involved in the drug trade.
Even rental property in which cultivation, preparation and sale are happening can be seized. Federally chartered banks are not allowed to handle money involved in illegal drug trade so great amounts of cash are regularly accumulated in the selling facilities and inspiring robbery and burglary. Armed robbery rates in these facilities are very high. Is all of this worth the new tax money our ever-greedy governments get?
People driving under the influence of marijuana double their risk of car crashing and about one in ten daily marijuana users becomes dependent on the drug, according to new studies, but medical uses, particularly dealing with chronic pain have shown positive effects.
Marijuana use has become increasingly prevalent over the years. Better studies have been done and the review of marijuana studies confirm what researchers have learned about the drug’s effects on human health and well-being over the past two decades.
Wayne Hall, a Professor and Director of the Center for Youth Substance Abuse Research at the University of Queensland in Australia, examined scientific evidence on marijuana‘s health effects between 1993 and 2013 in a “master study,” study of studies.
Adolescents using cannabis regularly are twice as likely as non users to drop out of school and twice as likely to have cognitive impairment and psychoses as adults. This is probably linked to the fact human brains are not fully formed until age 21 or 22. This appears to be a greater threat in cultures where families are broken, incomplete and not functioning normally to keep young people from using dangerous drugs.
The journal “Addiction” reports several studies linked regular cannabis use in adolescence to the use of other illicit drugs, according to the October 2017 edition of that Australian journal.
Nonetheless, researchers in those studies debate whether Marijuana use leads to the use of other drugs. While the “gateway” effect may not be inevitable it is present and ominous.
Hall points to longer-term studies and studies of twins in which one used marijuana and the other did not as particularly strong evidence that regular cannabis use necessarily leads to the use of other drugs while unsettled shows the hazard is significant.
Hall claims marijuana is not as harmful as illicit “hard” drugs like amphetamine, cocaine and heroin, with which it is classified in the law of many countries, including the USA. This is the basis of the complaint it should not be a “Class I” narcotic, but where it is a introductory, “gateway” drug in a significant number of cases the classification is appropriate.
The major risks of using Marijuana are similar to those for alcohol in accidents, dependence and psychosis. It is likely middle-age people who smoke marijuana regularly are at an increased risk of having heart attacks, according to the data.
However, the drug’s “effects on respiratory function and respiratory cancer remain unclear, because most cannabis smokers have smoked or do use tobacco, Nonetheless, putting smoke of any kind in our lungs is not a good idea. Regular cannabis users double the ordinary risk of having psychotic problems like disordered thinking, hallucinations and delusions.
A study of more than 50,000 young men in Sweden, those who had used marijuana ten or more times by age 18 were twice as likely to be diagnosed as schizophrenic within the next 15 years than those who had not used the drug. The size and quality of the study make it conclusive.
Critics argue other variables may be at work in the increased risk of mental health problems, and it is possible people with mental health problems in the first case are more likely to use marijuana.
In a 27-year follow-up study in Sweden researchers found a positive dose and response relationship between the frequency of cannabis use at age 18 and the risk of schizophrenia during the whole follow-up period, but they did not quantify the relationship as it was difficult to document. Long term studies always have trouble keeping track of people now that we are so mobile.
The investigators estimate that 13 percent of schizophrenia cases diagnosed in the study could have been averted if all cannabis use had been prevented in the group. This alone appears to disqualify the drug from open use, but schizophrenia is not fully understood so this conclusion is not considered confirmed. Many take issue with this stricture and feel the link is confirmed.
The effects of cannabis on pregnant women show the drug may reduce birth weight slightly and no other effects have been documented, but long-term follow-up studies have not been done.
The effects of euphoria that cannabis users seek from the drug come from its psychoactive ingredient, delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, known as “THC.” For the past 30 years, the THC content of marijuana in the United States has jumped from less than two percent in 1980 to 8.5 percent in 2006, a 425% increase with the effect of users finding themselves far more intoxicated than expected with consequent danger and disastrous results. How long increases will continue is unknown as intense culturing of a plant seemingly very adaptable is impossible to predict. Thus we conclude Marijuana is an increasingly dangerous drug on this point alone.
Where this is the case we find our several state legislatures making this drug legal in spite of not bothering to settle the Federal “Class I Narcotic” classification to be shocking and telling. Not one has seriously debated the Marijuana issue. These people are not working for us. They are working on us for money and power. This only confirms the worst about them and calls for a rule, “One term is enough.” If all elected people knew they were going home after one term we believe they would think more about their responsibilities than just what they can steal.
Robert Mueller is NOT Going To Like The Latest News From Team Trump!
As we approach the one year anniversary of the preposterous probe known as #RussiaGate, President Trump and his team are growing rightfully restless over the Special Counsel’s ever-expanding concept of reality.
In the beginning, the accusations were at least simple enough to understand. The democrats, looking for a scapegoat to blame their own ignorant choices on, attempted to paint a picture of Donald Trump as some sort of Russian spy, or Kremlin double agent, or stooge of Vladimir Putin, insisting that the only way Hillary Clinton could have lost the 2016 election was through interference of an international sort.
When the conservative-leaning nation collective rolled their eyes in the general direction of Robert Mueller’s farcical task force, the concept of Russian involvement with Trump shifted again. And again and again. And so on, and so forth, for over a year.
Now as Mueller begins to bear down on his 12th month of “service”, numerous conservatives are ready for the entire debacle to be behind us. After all, two separate investigations have found zero evidence of “collusion” with Russia – something that the democrats have been banking on ever since Hillary’s tanking in 2016.
President Donald Trump’s attorney has an unlikely new role model for special counsel Robert Mueller: James Comey.
Frustrated by the open-ended nature of Mueller’s Russia probe, which hits its one-year mark on Thursday, Rudy Giuliani says Mueller should follow the example Comey set in 2016, when the then-FBI director investigated — and then publicly exonerated — Hillary Clinton for her use of a private email server.
“When Comey closed [the case] in July — although I think it was a complete whitewash — I’d like to have them do that for us,” the former New York mayor said.
Giuliani’s addition to the Trump legal team has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride for the White House, who at once seem both excited about the prospect of Rudy’s tough talk taking Mueller down a notch, and nervous that perhaps “America’s Mayor” could push a few too many buttons when it comes to the Special Counsel and his deranged team of anti-Trump agents.
The main concern that seems to be be present regarding Mueller has to do with the fact that his inquiries are no longer being restricted to issues with Russia, and the open-ended character of the setup so far has conservatives rightly concerned about the probe becoming a witch hunt.
Giuliani’s point, echoed by many conservatives, is that Mueller’s year-old investigation has run too long and is causing Trump unacceptable political damage.
“Come on! They’ve had a whole year,” the Trump lawyer said in a recent interview. “We’re going to raise the pressure to try to get this thing over with. It’s gone on long enough,” he added.
“In the interest of the country, I think it’s time to wrap it up,” Vice President Mike Pence told NBC last week.
As has been the case so far, Mueller has remained unmoved by the criticism, continuing to toil away at whatever flimsy and phony concoctions of circumstance that the left hand him.
Report: California State Bar Investigating Michael Avenatti
By Daily Caller
Michael Avenatti, porn star Stormy Daniels’ attorney, is being investigated by the California State Bar, a new report reveals.
Seattle attorney David Nold filed a complaint against Avenatti on March 26, as The Daily Caller News Foundation previously reported. Nold accused Avenatti of defrauding the state and federal government as the owner of a Seattle coffee chain.
“In essence, he bought a company out of bankruptcy and then used it for a ‘pump and dump’ scheme to deprive federal and state taxing authorities of millions of dollars,” Nold said in the complaint.
An April 18 letter Fox News obtained on Wednesday shows Avenatti is now under investigation. The state bar only launches a “full investigation” if the attorney reviewing the complaint “sees evidence of a serious violation,” according to its website.
“The complaint against attorney Michael J. Avenatti has been reviewed and forwarded to the Enforcement Unit for further investigation and prosecution, if warranted,” the letter states, according to Fox News.
Avenatti previously dismissed Nold’s complaint in a statement to the Seattle Times but has yet to provide any evidence refuting the accusations.
The porn star’s lawyer threatened to sue TheDCNF’s journalists on Monday for reporting on his history of shady business dealing. Avenatti has yet to demonstrate a single factual inaccuracy in TheDCNF’s reporting.
Obama Surveillance of 2016 Campaign “Bigger Than Watergate”---D. Trump
By Andrew West
Abuses of power are not at all uncommon in Washington D.C. In fact, a great many Americans have simply acquiesced to the fact that we may never completely drain the swamp, and are living their lives accordingly.
The idealism of a perfect American Dream has been metered and mitigated in our daily lives. We simply assume that the corrupt “powers that be” will give us only what we need to remain docile in the face of their rampant, subtle oppression.
“The peasants are growing restless, eh? Give them legalized sports gambling. Maybe sprinkle in some legal weed. That ought to keep them in line”.
What many of us have forgotten, (or never realized), is that things like marijuana and gambling should never have been illegal in the first place. This is the equivalent of the government preemptively grounding us like children, and then lifting those restrictions little by little in order to prevent a wholesale rebellion.
When an entire governmental system is operating like this, in the open, for decades, it becomes incredibly easy for those in power to abuse their position. Such is the case with former President Barack Obama, whose FBI was secretly spying on the Donald Trump campaign of 2016 for what can only be assumed is the purpose of providing democratic challenger Hillary Clinton with disparaging information.
This inexcusable affront to our freedom to choose our President has not been received well by the Commander in Chief.
President Trump on Thursday touted a report saying the FBI under former President Obama spied on the Trump campaign during the 2016 presidential race, saying that the revelation could be “bigger than Watergate.”
“Wow, word seems to be coming out that the Obama FBI ‘SPIED ON THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN WITH AN IMBEDDED INFORMANT,'” the president tweeted in reference to a National Review report published last week.
“Andrew McCarthy says, ‘There’s probably no doubt that they had at least one confidential informant in the campaign.’ If so, this is bigger than Watergate!”
And Trump is certainly correct. The use of the Federal Bureau of Investigation for political purposes is completely amoral in unethical.
This is the kind of corruption that we’ve come to expect from the democrats, however, and the only way to coronate and install crooked Queen Hillary was thought the use of such extreme, third-world tactics.
Worse still, when Donald Trump first mentioned the possibility of being “wiretapped” back in March 2017 he was nearly laughed out of the West Wing by the mainstream media minions of the democratic party. Now, after fully realizing the unkempt corruption of the liberal left, we can only wait and see what sort of reckoning will be dished out for these treasonous, progressive pinheads.
NFL Fall Forecast: Is a New Feud with Trump on the Horizon?
Billionaire David Tepper, a sharp critic of the president, will be purchasing the Carolina Panthers later this month
by Tom Joyce
It may be the NFL’s off-season, but the league’s conflicts with the White House could be in the game plan for the months ahead.
News broke on Tuesday that New Jersey billionaire and Never-Trumper David Tepper will purchase the Carolina Panthers for $2.2 billion later in the month.
Although the move may sound pretty ordinary — a hedge fund billionaire buying a professional football team — there is more to the equation.
Tepper, a Republican, backed Jeb Bush and later John Kasich in the 2016 presidential primary. However, once Donald Trump won the party’s nomination, Tepper took sides with the Never-Trumpers. In the days leading up to the election, Tepper made several media appearances and shared why he supported Democrat Hillary Clinton — though he was still voting Republican in local elections.
On CNBC in November 2016, he called Trump “the father of lies,” and last month he said the president was a “demented, narcissistic scumbag” while speaking at Carnegie Mellon University, according to Sports Illustrated.
During the 2016 and 2017 NFL seasons, a number of players controversially knelt for the national anthem, and, last September, Trump made clear how he felt about it. At a rally in Alabama, he said, “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a b**** off the field right now. He is fired. They’re ruining the game.'”
Anti-Trump NFL players took this as an initiative to kneel for the anthem, even if they hadn’t knelt prior to the president’s comments. Although the protests subsided as the season progressed, the league has just added another prominent anti-Trump voice to its mix. And while it’s unclear where Tepper stands on kneeling, it’s evident he does not like the president — so there’s reason to believe he would go against Trump on the issue because of that dislike.
Tepper will also likely be propelled by the left-leaning media, which will seek him out for any anti-Trump quotes that fit their narrative. After all, that's what they do with NBA coaches Gregg Popovich and Steve Kerr, along with Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James. Sure, it may be off-putting for millions of Americans, but that didn't stop pro sports personalities from polarizing the nation in the recent past.
If the NFL wants to win back conservatives and other patriotic Americans, this is not the way to do it. The league's front office has to approve every time one ownership group sells a team to another. In the process, this staff must look into the background of the buyer. That said, they must understand the kind of headache Tepper might cause.
The NFL has the right to sell a team to Tepper — just as fans have the right to watch his team or not. Depending on how much he opens his mouth this season, Tepper could help lead the league to a further ratings decline — all in the name of the resistance. Or not.

Report: Inspector General Will Declare FBI, DOJ Broke Law in Clinton Email Probe
Alex Wong, Chip Somodevilla, Win McNamee/Getty Images
A new report suggests an imminent Inspector General (IG) report may rule that FBI and Justice Department officials broke the law in their handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation.
Investigative reporter Paul Sperry said Thursday that Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz has “found ‘reasonable grounds’ for believing there has been a violation of federal criminal law in the FBI/DOJ’s handling of the Clinton investigation/s,” adding that the top watchdog official has “referred his findings of potential criminal misconduct to Huber for possible criminal prosecution.”
BREAKING: IG Horowitz has found "reasonable grounds" for believing there has been a violation of federal criminal law in the FBI/DOJ's handling of the Clinton investigation/s and has referred his findings of potential criminal misconduct to Huber for possible criminal prosecution
In response to growing calls for a second special counsel to probe the Clinton email probe, along with FISA abuses that took place during the 2016 election, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced in March the appointment of Utah’s top federal prosecutor, John Huber, to probe potential wrongdoing.
It was revealed this week that the Inspector General’s highly-anticipated report was submitted for review.
“Those invited to review the report were told they would have to sign nondisclosure agreements in order to read it, people familiar with the matter said. They are expected to have a few days to craft a response to any criticism in the report, which will then be incorporated in the final version to be released in coming weeks,” the Wall Street Journal reported.
Liberals Unite to Defend MS-13 Drug Gang from Hurt Feelings
By Andrew West
Someone really needs to explain to the liberal left that there is a limit to the argument that an enemy of my enemy is my friend, because they are certainly testing its outer boundaries this week.
As the left continues to farcically focus their unbridled hate at President Donald J. Trump, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, First of His Name, and Protector of the Realm of America, they are doing so in such a brute method that it makes “scorched earth” look like an overcooked Pop Tart.
Not only have they attacked the President repeatedly for lewd behavior, (both documented and fictional), all of which occurred long before his political ambitions were even water cooler talk at Trump Tower, but the left is now openly waging war against anyone who aligns themselves with The Donald. Even rap superstar and American fashion icon, (for some reason), Kanye West wasn’t immune to the hatred and nonsense of the democratically-controlled media and the millennial miscreants who parrot their every syllable.
This horrifically divisive and irrevocable tactic of deceitful hate has now crossed over into the realm of imbecilic and bellicose banter, bordering on unintelligible. Just get a glimpse of the left’s latest attempt at disagreeing with The Donald.
During a roundtable discussion of California’s sanctuary state laws, Trump described members of MS-13 as “animals,” adding that immigration authorities were now “taking them out of the country at a level and rate that’s never happened before.”
It is not the first time that Trump has used the phrase to describe the bloodthirsty organization, who have been classified by the FBI as the most violent and organized criminal network in the United States.
That seems fairly reasonable, no? I mean, the President is clearly referring to hardened criminals from an internationally feared drug cartel gang. “Animals” is kinda tame, especially coming from the vociferously honest President.
Not according to the liberal left, however, who stood up for the murderous drug gang MS-13 all across social media.
