Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand has warned parents to be vigilant on Facebook after fake advertisements from a man posing as a Nickelodeon producer who was offering kids a 'slime experience' begun appearing on the social media platform.

The ad, posted on a Buy/Swap/Sell page in Western Australia, asked parents of children aged between 10 and 15 to contact them if they wanted their kids to get 'messy and slimed' at a non-existent Nickelodeon studio in Perth.

After a parent raised the issue with Nickelodeon, a official Nickelodeon representative confirmed that the 'slime experience' was not at all affiliated with the popular children's network.

The Nick representative also reiterated that the channel only promotes official Nickelodeon events and auditions on its television channels, websites nick.com.au and nickjr.com.au, verified social media pages, and via their current partners, and not in closed Facebook groups, with any such posts not being affiliated with the company.
