Nickelodeon UK Welcomes 'Malcolm In The Middle' To The Nick@Nite Line-Up On Saturday 6th January 2018

Nickelodeon UK and Ireland will start to show the multi-award winning noughties sitcom Malcolm in the Middle from Saturday 6th January 2018 at 7:30pm, as part of nick@nite!

Created and Executive Produced by Emmy Award-winning writer Linwood Boomer, this inventive half-hour series is seen through the eyes of Malcolm (Frankie Muniz, The Fairly OddParents, The Nick Cannon Show, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, My Dog Skip, Big Fat Liar), a normal kid trying to navigate his way through life despite the various obstacles thrown in his way--a complete misunderstanding of girls, an eclectic group of classmates and the constant burden of masterminding plans to get himself and his brothers either into or out of trouble.

Although Malcolm has a genius IQ, he cannot seem to make any sense of the opposite sex, much less his embarrassing family. Lois (Jane Kaczmarek, The Middle, The Simpsons) is the outspoken, opinionated Mom, and her creative punishments and tough-as-nails approach always prevent the boys from slipping one past her. Hal (Bryan Cranston, Power Rangers, Breaking Bad, The King of Queens, Glenn Martin DDS), a dad who is a certified legend in his own mind, is perfectly content to let Lois 'wear the pants', but often finds himself creating more chaos than his four boys combined.

Reese (Justin Berfield, The Fairly OddParents, Max Keeble's Big Move) has mastered the art of a perfect blank stare, but has made up for his lack of intelligence with deviance. Francis (Christopher Kennedy Masterson, The Wild Thornberrys, Scary Movie 2), Malcolm's oldest and favourite brother, has grown accustomed to life away from the family, whether it's at a military academy or a dude ranch. And then there's Dewey (Erik Per Sullivan, Christmas with the Kranks, Arthur and the Invisibles, Finding Nemo), who just doesn't know any better than to look up to his brothers. Hopefully, he'll catch on before it's too late. Malcolm finds himself truly in the middle!

In the pilot episode, Malcolm Wilkerson has been labelled a boy genius and is moved, much to his chagrin, into the "Krelboyne class", which is a class full of nerds and geniuses like him. The first episode of the show picked up the largest audience for a Fox debut since The Simpsons, with 20 million people tuning in to see the pilot!

Joining the main cast are series regulars, including: Arjay Smith (The Journey of Allen Strange, The Bernie Mac Show) as Finley, Kyle Sullivan (All That, The Amanda Show, The Secret World of Alex Mack) as Dabney Hooper, Craig Lamar Traylor (Matilda) as Stevie Kenarban, David Anthony Higgins (Big Time Rush, Wendell and Vinnie, True Jackson, VP, Ellen, Mike & Molly, Newsradio) as Craig Feldspar, Emy Coligado (The Brothers Garcia) as Piama Tananahaakna, and Catherine Lloyd Burns as Caroline Miller (The Jungle Book: Mowgli's Story), the teacher of the Krelboynes.

Notable guest stars throughout the series include Jennette McCurdy (iCarly, Sam & Cat) as Daisy and Hayden Panettiere (Until Dawn) as Jessica.

Created by Linwood Boomer and Malcolm in the Middle originally ran for 151 episodes over seven seasons between January 9, 2000 – May 14, 2006. The series was produced by Satin City, Regency Television and Fox Television Studios, and aired on FOX in the United States. In the UK, the series originally aired on Sky 1 (Sky One), with encores most recently airing on Comedy Central UK & Ireland. The shows theme song is titled "Boss of Me" by They Might Be Giants.
