Nickelodeon popular comedy series Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn aired its Season 3 finale in August and finished filming Season 4 shortly after that, but the new season, which airs in 2018, comes with a couple major differences.

For one, the show, which centers on a set of quadruplets, will be losing one of its titular siblings. Mace Coronel, who played Dicky on the series, announced in September that he left the program towards the end of filming Season 4 and that production would continue without him.

International Business Times spoke with NRDD star Lizzy Greene, who plays Dawn, at the Nickelodeon HALO Awards 2017 Orange Carpet in New York City on Saturday, November 4th about how the show will handle Coronel’s exit and what the future holds for the comedy.

Greene reveals NRDD will explain Coronel’s exit towards the end of Season 4 by sending his character Dicky “on a little trip” to Australia and “that’s pretty much it.”

While she mentioned that his departure “was a surprise to us all,” she said she understood that that’s just “the way the business goes” and that she has to work with the information she’s given because that’s the job.

Though a main character has left the show, it’s allowed for the opportunity for another character to join.

“We had a new cast member come in towards the end of our fourth season and he’s really nice and made the whole experience even more fun because it’s always cool to have new people come in to work with,” the 14-year-old told IBT. “It’s just a great experience. I can’t wait for fans to see it because I feel like this is going to be our best season yet.”

The new character is a foreign exchange student and “he’s kind of taking over the presence of Dicky,” Greene said. Though the sudden casting shake-up changed a few things, she said “nothing really changed” and the show’s been doing well.

While the new cast member might be able to fill that void a bit, when Coronel announced he had left the series, the future of the show seemed to be uncertain beyond the upcoming season. Even with the new star, Greene said that’s still relatively the case, though she’s sure the entire remaining cast would love to continue on.

“No word on it yet,” she said of a potential Season 5. “I’m sure everyone would love to have it. I, for sure, would love to, but you never know. You just always have to be open for options and other stuff like that, but you have to expect it all.”

When speaking of being open to other options, the Nickelodeon star said that she’d be interested in going after roles that are little more mature than the one’s she done in the past.

“I would definitely love to broaden my horizon, since I’ve done children’s shows for so long, but I’m not saying I don’t love that so much,” she said. “But I would also love to be able to experiment with drama and things that are a little more serious, but, at the same time, comedy is where I was born and raised, so I am always, always open to it.”

If she could have the chance to take on a dream TV guest-starring role, she said it would be on none other than the hit CW series Riverdale.

“I love Riverdale so much, it’s just such a great show,” she said of why she’d want a role on it. “It’s so amazingly written. It’s just great.”

The Nickelodeon HALO Awards 2017, a one-of-a-kind concert special honoring four young leaders who are changing their communities and the world by “Helping and Leading Others” (HALO), airs across Nickelodeon USA, TeenNick and Nicktoons on Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. ES/PT, and Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn returns with Season 4 on Nickelodeon in 2018.
